We had the good fortune of connecting with Kim Twiddy and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kim, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The beating heart of Outer Banks Entrepreneurs is undeniably its people – the spirited members who breathe life into our organization. Twelve years strong, their unwavering commitment has been the cornerstone of our success.

In every meeting, we share laughter, learning, tears, and growth. Members and guests step into an immediate embrace, knowing we’re here not just to assist but to wholeheartedly foster their business growth.

Action defines us. We’re a dynamic force, ensuring things get done daily. Each member’s voice matters, ideas are welcomed, and opinions are polled – majority rules. Our focus is unwavering – the best for our members, always.

Our members are more than just participants; they’re contributors. Invested and proud, they constantly seek ways to elevate OBE. The spirit of collaboration fuels our journey – small parts collectively achieving big things for the past twelve years.

Excitement pulses through us daily. Eager to work on our businesses and support every woman’s growth, we revel in the joy of becoming not just successful entrepreneurs but better individuals.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Outer Banks Entrepreneurs, LLC stands out as the coastal area’s premier Mastermind, Networking, and Referral organization. Our dynamic membership includes female Artists, Business Professionals, Crafters, Direct Salespersons, Non-Profit organizations, and Service Providers.

Setting us apart, individuals don’t have to be business owners to participate – representation is allowed with the owner’s permission. We meet in person twice a month, with a monthly business meeting and a Member Spotlight Night for an in-depth presentation by one of our members.

Our organization thrives on heartfelt referrals, making attendance mandatory. This personal interaction enhances our referral process, contributing to easier connections.

A unique aspect is the ability to attend other chapters’ events at no extra cost, fostering a broad network across two states. As we approach our twelve-year celebration, the constant influx of talented members fuels our growth.

We continuously aim to improve our website, social media presence, meeting agendas, and socials. Our motto is doing it right the first time, aiming for flawless operations. Challenges are met head-on, supported by our dedicated board leaders and members.

Every day presents lessons and opportunities for growth. We’ve mastered identifying behavior types and work ethics, delving into the fascinating study of human behavior.

Our message to the public: every woman has a story and something positive to offer. Attend our events, visit our website, and meet the hardworking women shaping our local communities.

Outer Banks Entrepreneurs is a source of positivity, support, and valuable resources for business growth. Now is the time to apply for membership and experience the incredible network we’ve built to help grow your business.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If you’re visiting the area, I recommend the Colington Creek Inn, a waterfront bed and breakfast in Kill Devil Hills, run by Dawn & Darold Schaefer.

For relaxation, a must-visit is the Outer Banks Salt Cave in Kitty Hawk, owned by female army veteran Phyllis Miller and her friend Selena Martin. With a Salt Cave, Salt Booth, massage recliners, and more, it’s a tranquil retreat.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Celebrating twelve incredible years this June, Outer Banks Entrepreneurs owes its success to a powerhouse of talented members who’ve played pivotal roles in our growth. Their dedication extends beyond volunteering time to nurturing businesses; it encompasses the spirit of camaraderie and support.

From setting up meetings to providing door prizes, tracking attendance, offering mastermind sessions, onboarding new members, updating our website, managing our social media platforms, volunteering at our events or recruiting, our members are the backbone of our vibrant community.

Every woman who has joined the OBE family holds a special place, contributing to the unique tapestry that makes OBE outstanding.
