People. People are the most important factor behind any personal service. When I started out on the journey to create Strange Beauty Tattoo and Salon Collective, I wanted to make something really special. A place where anyone could come and feel comfortable and empowered to affirm and express who they really are for the world to see. Everyone possesses their own strange beauty. But you can’t make a tattoo or do a haircut without a person to do the work for, and each client is different. These art forms are not about the artist, not even about the arts themselves, but about the person they’re being performed for. doing what makes me happy is something that matters the most to me. I feel like we live in a time where we are doing anything to survive and we often don’t get a chance to prioritize our happiness over bills and the worries of the world. So for me following my dreams and doing what makes me happy is one of the richest opportunities I have. I understand everybody doesn’t have the courage , people around them or even the resources to do what they really want to do and it makes me appreciate everything that much more cause it’s a blessing. I want to know that my struggles, my challenges, my failures, and the successes I have experienced in my life all contribute to my work of helping Christian believers who are “done” with church, but not “done” with God, to re-discover the “treasure” of a life with God. This treasure once held the ultimate importance in their life, but a myriad of issues in all kinds of churches have taken their minds off God and onto man and they no longer see the promise of that life of treasures. We both have a background in singing. In a short time, we discovered that singing together was very enjoyable not only to us but for those who heard us.
