We had the good fortune of connecting with William Jennette, Jr and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi William, how does your business help the community?
At See It Through Fitness, our mission is to enhance lives through dedicated fitness, health, and wellness services. We believe in the transformative power of a holistic approach to well-being. Our programs cater to everyone, from those with special needs and disabilities to older adults facing challenges like Parkinson’s, dementia, and Alzheimer’s.
We tailor our fitness and health training to meet individual needs, emphasizing not just physical fitness but also mental well-being. For us, it’s about creating personalized, empathetic solutions that improve the overall quality of life.
In addition to our fitness programs, we offer nutritional guidance aimed at preventing and managing conditions like diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, and high cholesterol. This comprehensive approach ensures that our clients receive the support they need to lead healthier, more fulfilling lives. By addressing both fitness and nutrition, we aim to make a lasting impact on the community, one person at a time.
What should our readers know about your business?
See It Through Fitness is more than just a gym; it’s a comprehensive fitness sanctuary serving a diverse community. Our mission is to provide a welcoming, inclusive environment where individuals of all ages and abilities, especially seniors and those with special needs, can thrive through personalized fitness and wellness programs. Our facility uniquely caters to mature adults and individuals with special needs, ensuring accessibility and comfort for all. We are committed to inclusivity, offering specialized programs like pre-and post-natal care training alongside small group sessions that foster community and support.
At See It Through Fitness, we believe in holistic well-being. Our range of programs includes senior fitness, small group classes, yoga, water aerobics, and a strength & conditioning program that can also be tailored for Special Olympics athletes. This variety ensures that every member finds a program that resonates with their fitness journey. Our vision extends to forming strategic partnerships with universities, hospitals, and rehabilitation centers. These collaborations allow us to offer various services, including physical therapy, occupational therapy, massage therapy, and recreational therapy. We aim to build strong community ties and gain support from notable organizations like Silver Sneakers and the Special Olympics. I have recently become a powerlifting coach and trainer for the Special Olympics. Our location in Durham, NC, positions us to collaborate with city and state programs, enhancing our reach and impact.
We faced challenges such as going through COVID pandemic, which shutdown a lot facilities, so we had to create different programs that provided safety, social distancing, and was beneficial to the community and clients.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend is visiting the area, the itinerary that I would come up with is going to get food at wonderful restaurants in Durham, NC that provide soul food, sushi, Italian cuisine, and Caribbean dishes.
These restaurants include, but not limited to V’s Kitchen, M Sushi, Cucciolo Osteria, and Angie’s Jamaican Grill.
We would go site seeing at the Duke Gardens and to the North Carolina Museum of Art.
For amusement, I would take my best friend to Frankie’s Amusement Park to ride go carts, play arcade games and play miniature golf.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I give all my praise to God, my Lord and Savior. Without the grace , wisdom, and guidance of Christ, I wouldn’t be where I am today.
I would also give credit to my father, William Jennette, Sr who has helped provide knowledge and opportunity to help me understand entrepreneurship and being in the fitness health and wellness industry.
I give credit to my teachers and mentors who taught me how create, build, and implement programs for a specific target audience.
Lastly, I give credit and love to my mother, who has given me comfort, love, support and encouragement when things were tough and I wanted to go back into to workforce. She believed in my vision and ability to pursue my dreams and “See It Through”.
