Meet Nina Gervase | Realtor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Nina Gervase and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nina, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I knew it would be a hustle to get a business started from nothing to gang busters, but I also knew that it offered limitless income and potential. As a widowed mom of two, I needed to provide a hearty income to take care of household expenses, sports, activities, etc. I am not afraid of hard work and I have always known that whatever I put my mind to I am able to achieve. And so I put myself through real estate school, hired a coach, aligned with the right brokerage and now I am building my own team. I started this business to provide for my family and now I am coaching other agents that are starting out in the business. I hope that my example of being an entrepreneur rubs off on my children and they have the faith to start their own limitless businesses someday.
What should our readers know about your business?
I am not a sales person and I have never enjoyed “sales”. I am a people person and you’ll know that from the moment we meet! I greet people with a big smile and often a hug. And all of that is truly genuine! My clients know that they can trust me to tell them the truth, educate them on everything that they need to know and protect them fiercely. So I am not in the business of selling houses. I am in the business of educating my clients, of coaching them to make the right decisions, of making connections that will transform lives and of caring so deeply that clients become friends. I lead with integrity, compassion and education. I have had clients say to me, “Nina, we bought a house with another agent in the past but there is a huge difference when working with you!” And that gives me such a warm heart to know that they truly felt the caring in my work and appreciated it. As I coach new agents on how to be successful, I always stress how important it is to listen and be compassionate. We are in the business of transforming other people’s lives. That is truly special.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
This is the toughest question to answer because I love so much about where I live! Let’s start with my hometown, Cary. We would begin our day with a coffee and pastry at Esteamed Coffee in downtown and then stroll down Academy Street to the amazing new park and then the arts building. Later we would hike around the scenic Bond Park Lake and then head to Sassool for a mouth watering, authentic mediterranean lunch. So delicious! Jordan Lake is just a quick car ride away and an excellent. place to watch boats on the water, hike and camp. We can pop by there as we drive the back roads to Chapel Hill. Here we can walk the streets around the historic university and have dinner at Top Of The Hill overlooking Franklin Street. The next day we can head to Durham and have breakfast at Mad Hatter Cafe and then head over to the beautiful Sarah P Duke Gardens on the Duke University Campus. You will want several hours here to take it all in! By then you will be very hungry and you still need to see a baseball game at the Durham Bulls stadium! Enjoy a lunch at Press outside the stadium before enjoying the game! Hopefully the next day you can head to downtown Raleigh and take in the sights at the science and history museum before exploring the capital building across the plaza. Don’t miss brunch at Morgan Street Food Hall! Oh so YUM! And then head over to the Raleigh Little Theater to see the rose garden behind it. And finish your evening at Mandolin restaurant for the most delectable meal. So memorable! I hope you enjoyed your weekend in the Triangle!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have so many people that deserve recognition in helping me become successful. First and foremost, my children have patiently stood by my side, assisted with the home front during long work hours and encouraged me as I built my business. They are my rocks. My nieces and family members have given me so many tips and tricks to help my business stand out… I truly could not have made it without them. My coaches gave me the proper mindset tools to soar to great heights and overcome the doubts that were holding me back from my greatest potential. A special friend, Minda Coe, introduced me to my current brokerage, eXp. Without her I would never be surrounded by such a generous group that helps me grow every single week through masterminds. Tina Caul is the founder of my special group at eXp and she challenges me with huge goals every single year… I love a challenge! Pamela Tucker is so much more than a colleague. She and I collaborate on various projects and help to keep each other motivated! Jeffrey Trower is our team photographer, videographer, tech guru and amazing business partner that helps with buyer clients. I am forever grateful to my clients because they continue to refer me to their family and friends. They are the reason that my business has grown so much! In fact, my clients have become like family to me!! And finally I dedicate a lot of my success to my late husband. He continued to work throughout the battle with his brain tumor and I model my drive and determination after him. Steve was beyond amazing and I want to carry on his legacy.
