We had the good fortune of connecting with Nicolette Jacobsen and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nicolette, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I come from a family of entrepreneurs so the idea of starting a business wasn’t super foreign to me. I also began to notice my traditional 9-5 work schedule did not allow me the time freedom to steward my relationships, household responsibilities, and other passions well. That said, I started to explore the logistics of starting my own business, and through research, prayer, and seeking wise counsel I decided to go for it!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What sets me apart from others in the wedding planning industry is my deep commitment to infusing Christian values and principles into every aspect of the wedding planning process. I believe that weddings are not just about the logistics and aesthetics but also about creating a sacred and meaningful experience that reflects the couple’s faith and love for each other. I’m most proud of the relationships I’ve built with my clients and the trust they’ve placed in me to bring their vision to life in a way that honors their beliefs.

Getting to where I am today professionally has been a journey filled with both challenges and triumphs. It hasn’t always been easy, especially in an industry that can be highly competitive and fast-paced. However, my faith has been my anchor throughout it all, guiding me through the ups and downs and reminding me of the purpose behind what I do. I’ve overcome challenges by staying true to my values, continuously learning and growing in my craft, and surrounding myself with a supportive community of fellow wedding professionals and mentors.

One of the most important lessons I’ve learned along the way is the power of authenticity. By being true to myself and my beliefs, I’ve been able to attract clients who resonate with my approach and who appreciate the personal touch I bring to their wedding planning experience. I’ve also learned the importance of flexibility and adaptability, especially in an industry that is constantly evolving.

What I want the world to know about me and my brand is that I am deeply passionate about serving couples in a way that goes beyond just planning a wedding. I am committed to helping them create a celebration that reflects their love, their values, and their faith, and I consider it an honor and a privilege to be a part of such a special moment in their lives. I hope that through my work, I can inspire others to approach wedding planning with intentionality, grace, and joy, and to see it as an opportunity to strengthen not only their relationship with each other but also their relationship with God.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
For a week-long visit to Raleigh, there is so much to do and see! We might indulge in Southern comfort food at Beasley’s Chicken + Honey for brunch and then explore the historic City Market area, discovering local shops and galleries. The next day, we could start by visiting the North Carolina Museum of Art in the morning, followed by a picnic and hike at Umstead State Park. On the third day, we’ll take a day trip to Durham, starting with breakfast at Monuts Donuts and exploring the American Tobacco Historic District. We’ll wrap up with dinner at Pizzeria Toro. Back in Raleigh, we could spend some time indulging in some retail therapy at Cameron Village. For our final day, we’ll treat ourselves to a spa day at The Umstead Hotel and Spa before enjoying a barbecue at The Pit Authentic Barbecue for lunch and a stroll through the Raleigh Rose Garden before heading home!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First and foremost I want to give thanks to God. He is the giver and sustainer of life, and every good and perfect gift I’ve been given in this life (my business included) is from Him. I also want to shout out my husband, Daniel. Not only is he my muse and the reason I believe in love but he also is my biggest supporter, my sounding board late at night when I have too many ideas to process through, and the one who leads me so well. Lastly, I want to thank my parents. Because of their hard work, willingness to take risks, and desire to create a better life for me growing up I was able to see what happens when you don’t give up on one another or your dreams.
