Meet Melisha Boyd | Mental Health Therapist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Melisha Boyd and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Melisha, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My thought process behind starting my own business was having those who need a safe place to discuss their mental health in mind.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a mental health therapist that works with both children and adults. There are a million therapists in the world and I’m so excited to be a part of this growing world that we’ve created. If I can hone in on what sets me apart, I think I can safely say that God has given me an ability to integrate mental health and faith. Is it always easy? For me, yes. There are clients that may talk about their faith in session and it invites the conversation. For those that don’t, we strictly focus on their mental health. I would like the world to know that there are many wonderful therapists out there, and I am glad to be one of them.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
This is not an easy question for me as I am a simple girl who likes to have girl’s night at home in front of the tv and plenty of takeout. There was a restaurant that I adored years ago called SOLAS and I would have had a girl’s night there (but I think they’re closed). Needless to say, I do not get out much
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to shoutout my mom, Donna Vaughan who has been an intricate advocate for me my entire life. She is my go-to person when I need a voice of reason and/or a “mom response” when I want it and sometimes when I don’t. 😁
