We had the good fortune of connecting with Keosha Joyce and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Keosha, is there a quote or affirmation that’s meaningful to you?
“Aspiring entrepreneurs have to actually do something that they feel strongly passionate about, and in most cases, they should seek inspiration from their own experience… If you had a terrible experience, you should despise the experience to the extent that you are continuously seeking a solution for it.” — Best Ayiorwoth

My passion for event planning partially stemmed from the negative planning experience I had with my own wedding. I was determined to give future couples a better experience than I had. Shortly after, I completed an Event Planning Certification through The Bridal Society and began shadowing a prominent planner in our area to learn as much as I could. Eight years later, and launching this company has been one of the best decisions I have ever made.

When times are tough or I encounter difficult events, I think about this quote to remember my “why” and it put things into perspective for me. Every couple deserves to have a moment that is stress free and magical and I hope to continue making that happen for my clients.

What should our readers know about your business?
I am so proud of the connections we’ve made with our clients. Weddings are such emotional events! We work with many of these clients for at least 1 year before their big day. We see the highs and lows of the planning process, family dynamics, laughs and even tears. We are providing more than a service for most of our clients—we become a support system during the planning and in most cases, we become friends after the event! I love genuine connections that we create!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
There are so many things to do and see in Durham NC! If someone came for a visit I would take them for breakfast at Press Coffee, Crepes and Cocktails for an amazing breakfast. We would have to catch the latest performance at The Durham Performing Arts Center and follow up with dinner at NanaSteak or Boricua Soul. You can’t leave the area without visiting the American Tobacco Campus and Sarah P Duke Gardens. Finally, finish the night off with a sweet treat like ice cream from The Parlour or frozen cocktails from The Slush Durham.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Thank you to my incredible team/family/support system because this is always a joint effort! I couldn’t make it happen without you! Lyndon, Cindy, Eddie, Nikia, Kay-Dean, Antanie, Teresa, Shauna, Rebecca. I appreciate you more than you’ll ever know.

Thank you Lyndon, Peyton and Langston for dealing with the late nights and long event days

Thank You Jocelyn of A Paradigm Shift Event for teaching me the ropes–I am forever grateful!

Finally, thank you to any person–vendor, family or friend that has ever worked with, recommended, or mentioned Enchanting Events. It means so much to have your name mentioned in rooms you’ve never walked in!
