We had the good fortune of connecting with Jhazmyne (Jhazy) Stover and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jhazmyne (Jhazy), why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
Finding balance and peace, and being that for others, brings me joy. I created a YouTube channel in 2017 to vlog my journey as a creative/entrepreneur with a strong focus on wellness. I’m finally jumping back into it now that I’m actually in this space! I’ve always enjoyed gathering my family and friends for a good time, so I decided to start an events + design business, Luxe Level LLC.

Thanks to my parents, creativity and community came naturally. After moving to a new city, I felt the urge to find women like me. Ones who were entrepreneurs and creatives. I had hopes of meeting up regularly to discuss goals and hold each other accountable, but ended up with so much more — a solid community and sisterhood, XO Influencer LLC. XO is a safe space for women of color to connect, collaborate, and “be well” — offline! I thank God for purpose every day.

My husband and I recently became owners of a construction company that’s been around for 50 years, now Stover Allen’s Environmental Construction. We are a woman/minority owned NC Unlimited GC, also licensed in FL. I’m so blessed to be on this journey and excited to bring everything full circle. It’s an amazing feeling to inspire others and be an influence by doing what I love. I hope to show the girls “you can do it to”!

What should our readers know about your business?
XO Influencer is where creativity flourishes, connections are forged, and dreams are supported. XO is a Creative House — your home for all things creative! We are a sisterhood and safe space for women of color. Our mission is to break barriers and foster creativity by providing a safe space for like-minded women to connect. Through a culture of mentorship, collaboration, and support, our community welcomes growth and exploration for entrepreneurs and creatives at all stages of their journey!

What sets us apart from others is that we provide space for some of the most influential women to unwind. I am most proud of the personal and professional relationships we’ve built and maintained over the years, from business partnerships to the best of friends.

Our brand serves as a beacon of inspiration and influence. Entrepreneurs and creatives, ranging from seasoned professionals to newcomers find a nurturing space where they can thrive creatively and personally. The creatives in our community serve as ambassadors of our brand and mission paving the way for a more inclusive creative landscape. In addition to our online platform, we host quarterly meetups & annual events where women can connect face-to-face, share experiences, & build lasting relationships.

I got to where I am today by never giving up. Hard work, consistency, and strength from God. I suffer from chronic illness, so it’s not always easy to show up, but I move with grace and get it done! I also have a great support system. A lesson I’ve learned is to stay true to your values and your people will find you.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Ok so I’m tapping into this more and more, because I can be a homebody… unless I’m on the water or a rooftop, sipping a mocktail! If we had a week long trip, I’d suggest…

During the week:
-Staycation at JW Marriott uptown, visit the spa, rooftop pool, and restaurants
-hang out at the Ballantyne Bowl
-Rooftop Dinner at Fahrenheit Clt
-Evening rooftop vibes at Buho Bar (Thur or Fri)
-Dinner at Chima Brazilian Steakhouse
-Rooftop vibes + bites at Hestia Rooftop

On the weekend:
-Boat Ride on Lake Wylie
-Brunch or Dinner at Drift on Lake Wylie
-Rooftop vibes + views at Merchant & Trade
-Bar One in South Park for mocktails/cocktails
-Rooftop yoga on Sunday’s uptown at the Harvey B. Gantt Center

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First, God deserves all the credit. None of this would be possible without Him! My husband is my #1 supporter, along with the love of my family and friends. I’d like to shoutout my XO Sisters because their constant support keeps me going. I’d also like to shoutout Bumble BFF!! When I moved to a new area, this is how I made a few friends. It gave me the confidence to create something similar with XO, but offline with meaningful connections.

Last but not least, shoutout to Tasha McCaskiel. We had a mentorship session, during what she didn’t know was my lowest point mentally, and nothing was ever the same. She poured into me as a creative so that I could pour into others. Her encouragement helped refuel my passion and I’m forever grateful.
