Meet Jahmel Belle | Producer, Songwriter & C.E.O

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jahmel Belle and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jahmel, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My thought process behind starting my own record label was to create a space to collaborate with artist and make timeless music. Most times us creatives just need time, space and a collaborative mind to turn an idea/melody/lyric into a record that will last forever.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
BelleTone Music Ent. Is an independent record label that I started in 2022. What sets BelleTone apart is that we are dedicated to helping artists create and achieve their vision. Being a writer/producer myself, one of the most rewarding things is the opportunity to “see the record through”! Starting from the concept of the lyric, to the creation & arrangement of the music, all the way to the live performance. There is nothing else like it !!
One thing that I am most proud and excited about is signing R&B soul vocalist, Jay D. Jones. He has a gift that is really about to shake up the world. He can sing, write and just command a stage!
Now when it comes to the biggest lesson that I have learned along the way; Well that’s easy, it is to ALWAYS put God first. A successful structure MUST have a strong foundation and mine is God!
What I want the world to know about Belletone and the story behind it, is that it embodies legacy. The idea of BelleTone becoming a record label came from my late father Bernard Belle who taught me everything I know about life, music & business. Since Legacy is timeless, at BelleTone Music we believe music should be as well.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The first thing we would do is hit the midnight diner (fire cracker shrimp salad) IYKYK…
Depending on the sports season we could probably catch a game (hornets /
panthers/knights) .. Even though I’m a Knicks / Giants / Yankees guy lol.
Lastly go over to “The Living Room” (1132 S Main St, Mt Holly, NC 28120) for some live music. Eric & Dena Brice got it jumping over there!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to dedicate my shoutout to my parents! (The Legendary )Bernard Belle (who transitioned in 2022) & (The Greatest Mom in the world) Debra Belle. I am the man that I am today because of them.
