Hi Dominique, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Risk taking is definitely something that has taken a huge role in my business. Before I decided to take the leap and give myself the opportunity to focus more on being a loc stylist and boutique owner, I was working full time for a company. It made it difficult to balance both at once since so much of my time was being consumed during the week. I finally made the decision to go down to part time, and was unsure if I would have enough business coming in to keep me afloat, but it was something I knew I HAD to do in order for my business and for myself to grow. When I decided to go full time with my business I was definitely nervous and overwhelmed, but it was the best decision that I’ve ever made. Being able to put my all into my business has increased my clientele and boosted my sales.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My name is Dominique Alison currently resides in Raleigh, North Carolina. I’m the Owner/Founder of Adore Dom Collection Boutique & A Touch of Dom Hair Services. I believe in making the world a better place, and taking it one day at a time. When I first started Adore Dom Collection, I wanted every woman to be able to look and feel beautiful, no matter what shape or size. I am motivated from all of the women who has been inspired by her hard work, dedication, and determination. I believe that everyone should be accepted for who they are. Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
There are so many places to visit in the Triangle. I would definitely take them to Lucky 32’s which is a great brunch, lunch or dinner spot. Glenwood Avenue is a perfect spot for tourist. You have good food places, bars and more. You’re able to walk the strip and socialize with any and everyone. Downtown Raleigh consists of so many hotels that are literally walking distant from everything. You have the mall which is perfect for people who love to shop.
