We had the good fortune of connecting with Zachary Goodman and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Zachary, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
For me it was really simple, would i rather work for myself or someone else? And the answer has always been 10/10 times that i would much rather work for me.

What should our readers know about your business?
My approach to business is the same as my approach to a lot of things. Iv always believed that simply being yourself and doing what you think is cool is a better plan then trying to follow trends. People like authenticity and its much easier to sell yourself and your product then to put on a persona because you think it will get you farther.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
For food? Koi Sushi and Grill is the best sushi in the state for my money. As far as nightlife iv always been a small/local spot kind of person so The Pour House in Raleigh and The Pinhook in Durham have got to be my choices. However this question brings up a thing that both myself and a lot of natives here have an issue with, there is just not that much to do anymore outside of bars or restaurants. I would really love to see people opening up more cool places to just, be and hangout in.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
This list could go on forever. My family was always a huge support, my entire friend group, my business partner Devin Bayles, A ton of bands, Juxton Roy, As Oceans, Lazarus Pit, Alesana, Gold Steps who let us do a wacky merch idea for them. My buddy Nate who brought a ton of great ideas to a lineup. Our graphic designer Rowan Pippen who we woulden’t be nearly as successful without. So many local businesses, the list is endless
