Meet Wesley Sapp | Charlotte Real Estate Agent/ The CLT Running REALTOR®

We had the good fortune of connecting with Wesley Sapp and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Wesley, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
That’s a fantastic question! One thing I’ve noticed is that many realtors focus solely on the next deal, treating their business one transaction at a time. Lead generation often becomes a “when-I-have-time” task, and there’s usually a gap in long-term branding and strategy—especially for solo agents who aren’t part of a team. Things like logos, business colors, and planning content a month ahead are often overlooked.
While this “deal-by-deal” approach can work in the short term, it doesn’t set you up for long-term success. For me, the key factors have been social media marketing, event planning, and consistently brainstorming new ideas with the “long game” in mind. The work you do today might not pay off immediately, but in five years, you’ll thank yourself for building that foundation. It’s about creating a business that thrives not just now, but for the long haul.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I am a local Charlotte Real Estate Agent. My business is a reflection of my passions, and the drive to go the extra mile—literally. As ‘The CLT Running Realtor,’ I combine my love for running with my expertise in real estate to create and build a unique brand in which people can relate to. Running has taught me perseverance, focus, and the ability to adapt to challenges, which goes hand in hand with real estate.
For a little background, I worked as a relocation recruiter for 6+ years prior to going into real estate. During that time, I helped more than 200 families find places to live, even though I wasn’t a licensed real estate agent yet. I’d research options like apartment complexes and Zillow to help them secure housing, making their move and transition into new jobs as smooth as possible. It was fast-paced, challenging, and rewarding—and it really sparked my passion for helping people.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting Charlotte for a week, I’d make sure they got the full CLT experience. We’d kick things off with a Saturday morning long run on the greenway with my run club! During the day, we’d walk around Freedom Park, grab a coffee, and enjoy the trails and lake—it’s one of my favorite places to unwind
After a run, we would stop by some local breweries- If you know me, you know I’m a beer girl! Charlotte has an incredible craft beer scene. We’d hit up spots like NoDa Brewing, Sycamore Brewing, and Wooden Robot for some great drinks and a chill vibe. For food, we’d definitely stop by Moosehead Bar and Grill—it’s a classic local spot, and their food is unbeatable.
If it’s NFL season, we’re definitely going to a Panthers game—no question about it! My family and I have had season tickets since 1999, so you could say we’ve been through it all, from the glory days to the ‘why are we doing this to ourselves?’ moments. But hey, loyalty runs deep, and nothing beats the energy at Bank of America Stadium on game day. Plus, it’s a perfect excuse to tailgate and soak up all the Charlotte football vibes!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My biggest supporters are my family. They always believe in me, cheer me on, and remind me that I can achieve anything I set my mind to.
My mom always tell me, ‘If you want to do something, you’ll find a way to do it.’ She wasn’t wrong—I’ve always had a stubborn streak. As a kid, if she wanted me to do something, I’d often go the opposite way just to prove I could. That independent, non-traditional approach has stuck with me and shaped how I tackle challenges today.
