We had the good fortune of connecting with Tyshineak Stewart and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tyshineak, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
My business is beauty. I believe everybody is beautiful in their own UNEAK way. Beauty especially starts within and it’s my job to sometimes pull it out. I talk to people everyday, especially woman because I’m in retail. It’s a time for me to get better acquainted with my clients thru small talk, from there I learn their strength and weaknesses. My purpose on earth is to build woman up in those vulnerable places that keep them bound and I use fashion as a tool to do just that.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business is a mirror of me. I’ve always loved fashion and was spoiled since birth. If my friends didn’t have it, I’d give them whatever I had so we could ask but cute. My moon and grand mom kept me pretty so it was natural growing up to keep myself together at all times. I was known for having the latest designer threads on and a pocket full of money. Lol. In my twenties I started my first business and shortly after started another business seeking clothing funny enough out my car. I made crazy money. That’s was it, I’d found my lane and from there I’ve ran the same business for 20 years now. I’ve did other things in between but Uneak boutique is my baby FOREVERRRRR. Imagine me, not finishing the 10 th grade only working 2 times in my life for a month out two and quitting running a whole successful business. FYI: I can elaborate further because it’sa good read I swear.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Whew baby now I love to show my people a good time but I’ma very private person. I shy away from crowds and I don’t party but I’m all for pampering, food and great conversations. I’d arrange for lunch at Curry and Kabob a great Indian restaurant, downtown Raleigh. After we’d get pedicures at Crabtree at Diva Nails. After we’d go in for relaxation at my home and I’d probably cook and lay around. Next day we’re getting massages with KneededDat by Kaniq. Visit Driveshack for a cute bit of entertainment and go in. Next days We’d checkout kale’s kitchen in Durham. The best soul food around. Next Take a walk at neuse River trail. Look at art downtown and stroll in Glenwood Ave.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to give a huge thanks to one of my dearest friends that’s more like a sister, LaWanda Isichei. I’ve written many hats in business and with encouraging words, a hard push every other day and genuine love I’ve been able to face many of my biggest fears. I’m so much bigger than I give myself credit for but my sister makes me feel like I can do ANYTHING. Thru so many years and tears she always kept my lifted.
