We had the good fortune of connecting with Trina Boyd and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Trina, what’s the most important thing you’ve done for your children?
The most important thing I’ve done as a parent is putting my children in a Christian school and raising them in a faith-filled environment. The current school system is failing our children in so many ways—academically, morally, and spiritually. I wanted my children to be surrounded by values that align with our faith, to learn right from wrong based on biblical principles, and to grow up knowing who they are in Christ. That foundation will guide them far beyond the classroom.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Babysitters Of Charlotte is a one-of-a-kind nanny agency that was built from the ground up with passion and a genuine concern for the childcare needs of families in Charlotte. What truly sets us apart is that we specialize in *date night babysitting* and *nanny placements*. We understand how important it is for parents to have trustworthy, reliable care—whether they’re stepping out for a few hours or looking for long-term support in their home.

Getting to where I am today was not easy, but it was worth it. I didn’t have a big budget when I started, so I got creative—I began cold calling businesses because I couldn’t afford traditional marketing. I also took the time to learn and apply free marketing strategies that actually work. Consistency and not giving up are what helped me grow this business into what it is today.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that no one is perfect—no person, no business. Mistakes happen, things fall through, and not everything goes as planned. But you have to keep going, keep growing, and stay committed to your mission.

What I want the world to know is that Babysitters Of Charlotte was built with heart. This isn’t just a business—it’s a service that meets real needs, run by someone who truly cares. We’re not just placing nannies—we’re giving families peace of mind.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend came to visit Charlotte, I’d definitely make sure they had the best time! There’s so much to do here, but I’d start in SouthPark, where I live—it’s beautiful, peaceful, and still has plenty to explore.

We’d kick things off by checking into the Hyatt Centric in SouthPark. I love that hotel—it’s classy, comfortable, and the vibe is just right. We’d head straight up to Mizu on the 9th floor for dinner. The food is amazing, the views are stunning, and it’s the perfect way to set the tone for the week.

The next morning, we’d grab breakfast downstairs at the Hyatt—they really do breakfast right! After that, I’d take them around SouthPark for some shopping or just walking around to enjoy the area.

Later in the week, we’d have to go eat at Rooster’s. Their chicken, mac and cheese, and collard greens are my go-to—they never miss. For something more relaxed, we’d swing by Reid’s Fine Foods in SouthPark for a glass of wine and chill vibes.

I’m not a big party person, but I would take them to a powerful church service at Victory Christian Center. It’s important to feed the soul too, not just the stomach!

And since I love business and connecting with other goal-driven people, we’d definitely find a local networking event—there are always some happening in Charlotte, and it’s a great way to meet interesting people and maybe even get inspired.

The rest of the trip would be a mix of chill days, good food, meaningful conversations, and some exploring—because the best memories are made when you’re just doing life with people you love.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Absolutely! First and foremost, I have to give all the glory to God—none of this would be possible without Him. I also want to shout out my pastor, Pastor Marilyn Gool, for her wisdom, spiritual guidance, and leadership. A huge thank you to my husband for standing by my side and supporting me through every season. And last but certainly not least, my children—they are my constant motivation and the reason I push so hard to create a legacy worth passing down.
