We had the good fortune of connecting with Tonya Holmes and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tonya, what’s the most important lesson your business/career has taught you?
The most important lesson my business has taught me is that patience will get you far. Good things come to those who wait; there’s no need to rush toward success. It will come to you if it’s meant for you.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m not your typical stylist; I see outfit creation as painting a picture, which comes naturally to me because I used to be an artist. As I grew older, I sought a new way to express myself while helping others feel their best, so I pursued a career as a personal stylist. The journey wasn’t easy due to the intense competition, but I’ve learned that as a new personal stylist, you must bring a fresh perspective to every potential client. It can be challenging at times, but I let go and trust that with faith, nothing is impossible.

Being a personal stylist has taught me patience, understanding, and gratitude, while helping me grow as a person. I am very thankful for all the incredible people I get to work with, and I consider myself fortunate to have some of the best clients. I want everyone to know that exciting things are on the horizon for Bella Couture. We will officially be opening a boutique this spring, so stay tuned; this is just the beginning of great things to come!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
All of these places have excellent reviews and are among the best for enjoying time with friends: Hibachi and Teriyaki Grill, Angeline’s, Brick Top’s, Mimosa Grill, Frankie’s Fun Park, and Bowlero. They are great spots to hang out.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I owe a lot to a couple of people who have always supported me. My mother has encouraged me to pursue a career that makes me happy, and without her, I wouldn’t be where I am today. My daughter’s father, D.J. O’Sullivan Jr., believed in me more than I believed in myself. Although he passed away in January, I feel he’s still watching over me and wanting the best for me.
