Meet Taylor Anne Wade | Wedding Planner – Taken Away Events

We had the good fortune of connecting with Taylor Anne Wade and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Taylor Anne, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I have been in the event industry for about 7 years and the wedding industry for about 4! After my experiences I wanted to start my own business too make sure clients are getting someone who cares about THEM! Far too often I see people in the industry for the money and not the passion and love for what they do and who they can help. More so there can be a lot of money spent in this industry and with that I want to help give back. Only as an owner can you truly control these aspects of the company you work for and it was time for me to try!
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I love a good challenge! Every client that comes our way has a new dream, new vision and a new experience to have! To get too the point I am at in my career I had to work HARDER than ever before. The wedding industry is unlike any other industry! You have ONE shot to get it right! I came from an acting background and shockingly for me it transitioned well in my mindset with my past! You have one shot and if something happens how you improvise and fix the situation is KEY! All the elements of “characters” bride/groom/bridal party, sound, lighting, hair & makeup, etc! The best lesson I have learned is you need to be a team leader/player and COMMUNICATION IS KEY!!! Without good relationships and communication things can become very difficult very easily.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Charlotte, NC is where I was born and raised! If I could plan an itinerary for someone coming to town I’d doo something like this!
– Spa at the Ballantyne Resort to start on a fresh note!
– Make our way to 300 East or Copper for a great lunch (depends on if you like a good southern meal or wanting to spice things up with some great Indian cuisine!)
– Cocktails on the rooftop of Merchant & Trade or Nuvole22 (great city view and photo op!)
– Ending the night at Chimas Brazilian Steakhouse!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would not be where I am without the mentors I have had! Amanda Caputo with ACE, Nicole Galloway with NG Events and my business coach Ric Wrye with 3C Ventures have been a huge part of me getting too this place of confidence to start my own company and way in the industry! I am also truly thankful for all my past jobs in the industry and those I have built relationships with along the way!
