We had the good fortune of connecting with Tasha Abrams and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tasha, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Kuber Transportation Service’s mission is to provide unparalleled safety, reliability, and compassion in the transportation industry for children up to the age of 19. What should our readers know about your business?
Who doesn’t need a kid Uber?? Kuber provides transportation services for children in Greensboro, NC. What sets my business apart from other child transportation services is simple. It’s me AND it’s the name. Not to toot my own horn, but I love everyone with the grace and kindness that God loves us with. My goal is to ensure parents and children feel like I am a part of their family because I am. There’s something comforting about knowing the person who is handling your child is someone that you can blindly trust to take care of them as if the child were their own. Also, the catchy name “Kuber” is easy to remember for the busy parents I service. So toot toot!

I never planned on owning a company. I was perfectly content working for some CEO of whatever business was paying me enough to stay. Until I wasn’t anymore. I’m extremely proud of myself for actually running a business of my own. I have no clue what I’m doing. I’m winging it every single day and I’m completely transparent about that with my network. I continue to work on and expand my business by networking with other professionals in several different industries. This has been great for Kuber’s maturity. I believe that my company is not limited to just children. It recently has expanded to include college students (Kuber Kollege) and the elderly community (Kuber Kares).

Getting to where I am today in regards to Kuber’s success has been difficult. There are tons of sleepless nights, random daytime naps, and sometimes I miss out on family events. I keep in mind that Kuber is a baby. It needs nurturing, it needs love, and it needs direction. I must pour into this business to help it grow.

I’m not done learning lessons. I know that there are quite a few more to come my way. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is to just keep going. Every day you have to keep going. Just because you failed doesn’t mean you won’t succeed the next time.

What I want the world to know about my brand and my story is I’m proof that faith without works is dead. I’m living proof that where there’s a will there’s a way. Kuber is proof that a homeless teenaged single mother can eventually become a multi-business owner with hard work and dedication.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My boyfriend!! He has been my rock and my biggest supporter while I was starting my business. From day one, he believed in me, even when I doubted myself. He listened to my ideas, gave me encouragement when I needed it most, and never hesitated to help in whatever way he could—whether it was brainstorming, running errands, or simply reminding me to take a break. His love, patience, and unwavering support made all the difference, and I’m so grateful to have him by my side on this entrepreneurial journey. Thank you for being my partner in every sense of the word boobae! I love you more than you know.
