Meet Tara Kamiya | Serial Entrepreneur born and raised in NYC. North Carolina and Japan are my second home towns.

We had the good fortune of connecting with Tara Kamiya and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tara, any advice for those thinking about whether to keep going or to give up?
Things can get difficult, things can get boring. I always know to keep going from two factors. One, who else is counting on me? It could be my community, my children or new employees. You get to a point in life where you are responsible for more than yourself. But also, I know it is time to give up when it is 100% misery. If it is joyless you have to save yourself. The key is knowing the difference between being in a tough spot and soul sucking.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I have always been naturally business oriented. There is entrepreneurship on both sides of my family. My father grew up at The Santee Gun Club. My great grandfather was a tobacco farmer who owned his land and crops.
I have some other famous hustler family so yeah…it’s in the blood.
I have made my way in business by moving with integrity. A big topic these days. I could have gone faster but would I have gone father? If it does not speak to my spirit I don’t do it.
I always move from heart and never count anything as a loss. At my age I have seen nobody prosper after trying to take the short cuts.
My greatest lesson is work. I manifest and do the Woo Woo stuff but we know that the work ethic is declining. Keep your standards no matter what others are doing.
I started Boudoir Boutique because I saw little shopping available to the women in Raeford, NC. There were literally 2 boutiques that I knew of in Raeford when I started going out there to visit a friend. Opportunity presented itself so I set up shop. The women deserve a Sip & Shop boutique. They did not have shopping options for miles in Raeford. I will always strive to offer what they need.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My Goodness! I was big on the party scene in NYC. Honestly if I had to show anybody a good time in NC they need only to be with me. Any bar, any restaurant, any event we are going to have a blast.
Cozy spots in Fayetteville, NC are Ramen Ichi Kaku, Haymount Truck Stop, Latitude Bar and Grill and Gusto Napoletano.
I cackle a lot and like to socialize. Everyone around me is going to have a blast. Keeping it light works for me.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
God comes first. So many unseen forces of serendipity have been on my side. Then my parents, siblings, husband and peer group.
No person can become a successful happy person alone.
