We had the good fortune of connecting with Stacey Paige and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Stacey, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I wanted to do something that was meaningful to me. Many years ago I went into business for myself as an event planner. I was very successful in that venture financially, but it didn’t fulfill me. I didn’t feel like I was making a big, positive impact in the world. I’ve gone through a couple of really challenging times in my life. One was in my physical health. I was given a prognosis by doctors that I would be spending the rest of my life essentially in bed. I refused to accept that. It didn’t feel right. I embarked on a journey to vibrant health and wellness. With the insight, information, understanding and tools I gathered, I knew I could help others who were dealing with similar (even if not as profound) situations. Yoga was a big part of that journey. I did a two year instructor training, and that marked the beginning of my transformation from event planner into my teaching and coaching business. So basically my business was born from wanting to help people who felt stuck, or alone, or just didn’t know what to do to move from, or change, unwanted conditions or situations in their life.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I coach, teach classes and workshops and have digital courses to help people find their purpose, develop a vision and bring it to manifestation. I believe it is up to us to design the lives we want to live, and meaningful lives leave us happier and more fulfilled. We are powerful beyond measure, and as we heal “what is in the way” (things like unprocessed pain and trauma, self-limiting ideas and beliefs) we free ourselves. I understand that each individual knows what is best for themselves – sometimes they just need help tuning it to and trusting their own inner guidance.

Locally here in Raleigh I have a monthly gentle yoga and soundbath event (or people can opt to just come in for the soundbath). I love creating a safe space where can heal, and come together in community. My husband always makes yummy plant-based snacks as an added treat!

Beginning in November I’m also adding another live event where we’ll combine guided meditation, sound healing and reflective journaling. Each month will have a different theme, to help people incorporate spiritual practices and tools into their lives in powerful, meaningful ways.

I launched my first online self-paced digital course earlier this year. Its received a lot of great feedback. I came to realize how much people value having something they can go back to again and again, on their time and schedule. So with that in mind I’ve been developing more mini courses that will be available beginning next month as well.

I think two things set me apart. The first is that I’m all about transformation. There’s a difference between “knowing about” something, and KNOWING something, and my job is to help people make that shift.
The other is that I’m able to breakdown things that are overwhelming or complex into understandable concepts and actionable steps. So people can understand how things like manifestation actually work, and what they can do in their own lives manifest with intention.

I got to where I am today one inspired step at a time. I can’t say it’s been easy, but I am moved from within. I am willing to continually show up, even when it’s outside of my comfort zone or it seems fruitless. I have a regular spiritual practice (mindfulness practice) that among other things includes meditation, yoga and contemplative and reflective journaling, which helps me to stay focused and grounded and overcome challenges.

I’ve learned that our pain informs our purpose, and that those times in life where we are brought to our knees are opportunities for massive transformation and growth.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love living in North Carolina!

Day hiking on the Mountain-to-Sea trail around Falls Lake with my two dogs.

Visiting Duke Gardens in Durham.

I’m a plant-based eater and there are so many wonderful options now. Fiction Kitchen and Element Gastropub are two of our favorites!

Listen to live music! So many options always. We don’t usually miss a Friday Night on White!

Sunday yoga at Compass Rose Brewery, and then stay for a drink and socialize.

Go shopping at North Hills.

Spend the afternoon at North Carolina Museum of Art.

Visit Umpstead Park and hike to the incredible “chainsaw art” tree.

Spend the morning at the State Farmer’s Market.

Walk along Falls Dam, especially when the dam is open and the white water rafters come out.

Go to a rooftop bar for cocktails – in Raleigh, the Willard or 10th & Terrace, or The Roof in Durham.

Head to Lafayette Village and have coffee or a glass of wine out on the lawn with our dogs.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There are so many. Yogiraj Alan Finger, Lisa Bennett Matkin and Ellen Klein were lifelines for me in the beginning of my yoga journey.

Katherine Economou was the Spiritual Leader at Center for Spiritual Living in Temecula, California. She guided me through becoming a licensed spiritual practitioner, which really gave birth to the spiritual coaching part of my business.

Michael Beckwith of Agape Spiritual Center in Los Angeles, California. His wisdom and teachings through his talks, books and podcasts are a regular part of my daily practice.

My husband Curt Riddle is so encouraging and supportive of me in everything I do.

My family and close friends are always cheering me on.

I’m grateful for them all!
