Hi Stacey (Chuu), we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
Starting a small business involves significant risks, many obstacles, and heavy sacrifices. Overcoming these challenges shape the level of success we can achieve.
For me, the biggest risk I ever took was starting my career in the tattoo industry. Initially, my parents didn’t support my decision due to the industry’s stigma at the time and their religious beliefs, which unfortunately clouded their judgement.
Thankfully, they’ve since come around and now appreciate the artistry and the positive influence it has had on my life.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My journey to where I am today has been challenging. Facing a dark period in my late teens, including a failed suicide attempt, became a turning point. It brought into focus the importance of my goals and the purpose I want to create in the world.
My family and I had to work hard growing up to ensure our financial stability, which meant I juggled two other jobs while completing my apprenticeship. This experience strengthened my resilience and fueled my hunger for continuous improvement.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Oh man, there’s so much to do in the city! Our favorite sushi spot has to be New Zealand Cafe, that’s the first stop. If we’re craving something sweet Villani’s bakery has delicious pastries, including cannolis. During the day we would visit a botanical garden, or stroll through the park. Finishing off the night going to a show at Snug Harbor or a local dive bar.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Growing up, my older sister was one of the most influential people in my life. She played a significant role in encouraging my creativity. I want to express how grateful I am for the incredible support I’ve received from family and friends throughout this journey.
I would like to thank the mentors that empowered me along the way, they have impacted me towards the steps needed for my success. Lastly, I’m able to do what I love everyday thanks to the entrustment of my clients.
