Meet Sara Casarez | Owner/Operator, To You Tents

We had the good fortune of connecting with Sara Casarez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sara, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
When we developed our business plan in 2020, there were no other businesses in this area venturing in the mobile glamping industry. Being cooped up in quarantine solidified our love for nature and passion for camping and we wanted to share that love with our community. We were inspired by other small businesses in the glamping industry across the nation and other countries after thorough market research but strove to create a unique service and twist to our business using variety and options for our customers.
What should our readers know about your business?
Something that really sets To You Tents apart is that it was important to us to offer a range of tent sizes and variety of rental prices so that customers can create experiences that are tailored to their needs and budgets. We are constantly adding to our inventory to personalize each rental experience. We try to coordinate with customer event colors and themes so that each rental is distinct from others. If our customers don’t see decor or add-on items that match the vision for their events, we offer event styling services to create them. We are really proud of how different each tent and event has been styled from one another. The versatility of our canvas glamping bell tents also generates opportunities for unique uses for our tents outside of camping. The most popular use for our tents recently has been as lounge spaces and picnic for parties and events. We now offer a luxury lounge set-up which includes patio furniture seating and tables for more mature events. We try to think of all the little things that can impact a camping experience or event and offer them with our furnished glamping tents or as add-on options for each rental. A priority add-on is air conditioning because North Carolina summers get hot and we want our customers to be comfortable during their rental. We want potential customers to know that we bring variety, experience, and creativity to the table—everything needed to help you curate a glamping event that’s unique, personal, and unforgettable.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We absolutely love living in the Charlotte community. Probably because it is so vast and varied, much like our business. We love taking our friends and family on the light rail into the uptown area. We enjoy the “Funny Bus” experience and checking out local breweries and restaurants. We have also enjoyed spending time camping near Lake Wylie, hiking the nature preserves, and boating on Lake Norman. Visitors also enjoy joining us at the Whitewater Center for hiking, live music, and water sports. For those with a little more courage, we also enjoy the zip lines.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Big shoutout to our families for getting us hooked on camping and the outdoors. Thanks for all the tents, campfire, and life lessons under the stars. We wouldn’t be the nature-lovers we are without you!
Thanks to The PopupBnB and former Alabama Glamping businesses for their mentorship as we began our journey into the unknown.
Shoutout to our returning customers—you keep us inspired and push us to bring fresh energy and creativity to every event. Thanks for letting us be part of your journey, again and again!
