Meet Rodney Dorsett | TV Mounting Business Owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Rodney Dorsett and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Rodney, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting Moving Mountings LLC was pretty straightforward. I had previously been working for a small tv mounting business with which my time had run its course; but for every ending there has to be some type of new beginning. I knew that by the time that it was time to start my own company, I had all the necessary tools (figuratively and literally) to be successful in this line of work. I stepped into my own business with the faith of a mustard seed, hence the name “Moving Mountings”. 3 years later, I’m still exceeding the needs and expectations of my clients. Moving Mountings LLC has led me out of my comfort zone, and even into another business venture of becoming an NC-Licensed Realtor®️. I look forward to the growth of Moving Mountings LLC, as it continues to help me grow and mold me as well!
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
What excites me most about my line of work are all the different types of customers I get to interact with on a daily basis! I’ve helped young, old, couples, singles, black, white and everything in between. It’s truly an honor to be able to put smiles on people’s faces by upgrading their living space or even their entire living situation. I don’t know how to put it into any other words other than making others happy makes me happy. I believe what sets me apart in my business practice (both real estate and tv mounting) is my customer service. Whether it’s a late tv job or clients needing to have showings all day long, it’s literally my job to make each and every client feel like they’re getting the best service possible, because they are. It wasn’t easy getting to where I am, but at the same time, I know I have so much further to go. I’ve overcome many hardships in business through the help of God, family and friends. Every day we wake up is a blessing and a new opportunity to learn from both mistakes and well-doings. At the end of the day, I would like the world to know that with God, anything is possible. My brand and my businesses will continue to grow and I couldn’t be more excited and grateful to be a part of that.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Honestly, I’m a homebody by nature, but I love to eat! There are plenty of new restaurants in the Charlotte area for visitors to try! There’s Spice, The Culinary Dropout, Irie Nation, Bryant Seafood Market, Renaldo’s Culinary Experience, State of Confusion and plenty more! Outside of food, visitors looking for entertainment can visit places like The Puttery, Museum of Illusions, Carowinds, Supperclub, Discovery Place, Slingshot, etc. In terms of nightlife or bars I would recommend Hive, Imperial, Recess, and Stats (for both nightlife and food).
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to dedicate my shoutout to God, because without Him, I would have never walked through plenty of doors that I didn’t have the courage or experience to walk through. Next I would like to show my undying gratitude to my family (parents: Kenny and Tosha Young, sister: Andrea Graham, grandfather: Danny (P-pa) Sanders) and my beautiful girlfriend, Kelli Jordan. Through their support and the support of many other friends and family taking a chance on me, I’ve gained both real estate and tv-mounting experiences that I could never say thank you enough for. All the connections that have been made, the late nights and early mornings, all the social media posts and shares, helping me pass out business cards; I could never thank them enough!
