We had the good fortune of connecting with Rich Burghgraef and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rich, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I grew up in New Jersey. My dad was in sales and my mom was in real estate so it was somewhat of a natural progression into running a real estate team. Learning to sell in New Jersey, I appreciated that people told you exactly where you stood (sometimes loudly!) This was very helpful for me to develop my relationship selling skills because I needed to learn to ask questions to get to see if there was a problem I could actually solve! I learned very quickly that by asking clients what they want and working to give it to them, people were happy to buy from you. They did not, however, want to be sold to.

What should our readers know about your business?
Rich Burghgraef Realty is a Raleigh-based real estate team dedicated to helping clients navigate the often stressful journey of buying, selling, and investing in real estate. What excites me the most is how we help our clients—every step of the way. We understand that the process can feel overwhelming, so we’ve developed a comprehensive, step-by-step system to make it easier. From establishing your budget to the little details like updating your address on your Amazon account, we’ve got it covered.

Was it easy to create this process? Not at all! Much of it was born from asking ourselves—and others—what they wished had been different in their past real estate experiences. We’ve also learned through real-world scenarios (like getting calls from two clients within 30 minutes, both who had accidentally sent Amazon deliveries to the wrong address!).

As Rich Burghgraef Realty grows, we’ve stayed committed to a “let the expert be the expert” mentality and work with some incredible partners. But we’ve also learned that it’s not just about finding talented people—it’s about finding the right people for each specific role. Unfortunately, many in the industry are driven by motives that don’t always prioritize the client’s best interests.

When people see the Rich Burghgraef Realty brand, we want them to associate it with excellence.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
