We had the good fortune of connecting with Rena Bulla and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rena, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
The thought process behind starting Gemini Transitions Infrared Sauna and Salt Cave was sharing techniques and systems that I used for wellness with people in the community. A good friend introduced it to me, so it was only right to share!

Please tell us more about your work. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
Gemini Transitions Infrared Sauna and Salt Cave is still a growing business, I am proud of the of the growth personally that is has created. I have learned so much about myself and I am able to develop myself to grow with the company. Being a business owner has made me work on areas of personal development, and these are habits that have improved quality of life. Not an easy journey but completely worth it.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
The week will be full of laughing and eating. Brunch with mimosas is the only proper way to welcome a friend to town. Any cuisine is welcome. I love to be outside with nature, so an easy hike will fit in the perfect week, also a nice way to work off the eating we will do. In High Point we have several options from bicycle trails to mountains to hike.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There are so many instrumental people in my journey. Tawana Jackson is the first to support and believe in the idea of starting a wellness center. It is so important to know where you want to go and have people in your life that support you. My sister, Qiana, has been a private and public cheerleader and supporter. She also, as all big sisters do, is a sounding board and gives me the most sound advice. My partner has supported me from the beginning even during the 3am idea bursts from time to time. Finally, on this business journey, you meet many people on a similar path, but very seldom do you meet someone willing to see your potential and pour into you. Letonya Shaw has been that person for me. I appreciate all of these people and can’t wait to share success with them. It has not been an easy journey but I am thankful to have these strong individuals to lean on.
