Meet Rebecca Fillion | Founder & Notary Public

We had the good fortune of connecting with Rebecca Fillion and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Rebecca, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Success starts with a decision. For me, that decision came when I realized how unfulfilling the 9-to-5 grind was and that working for someone else would always come with a ceiling.
I was burned out working remotely in the mortgage industry through the covid refi boom. Loans were drying up as interest rates climbed, and I could feel a shift in energy.
While doom scrolling tiktok one night, I came across content about a loan signing agent and I saw an opportunity to take control of my future and create something on my own terms.
I give 1,000% to everything I do, and I needed an avenue that would let me design a future where I control my time, income, and the impact I make on my community.
What should our readers know about your business?
At Fillion Notary, we provide a premier, concierge-level notary experience by handling every detail from scheduling to final execution, offering mobile and in-office flexibility, and delivering expert, error-free signings in the Raleigh Triangle. We go above and beyond to make sure attorneys, professionals, and their clients feel supported, valued, and taken care of.
We are also committed to making notary services accessible to those who need it most. Many individuals, including seniors and those with mobility challenges struggle to reach a notary. By offering mobile support, we ensure no one is left without access to essential notary services.
We stand out by leading with our heart, prioritizing relationships and building strong referral networks rooted in collaboration and uplifting our community. Supporting local businesses and professionals isn’t just part of our work, it’s who we are. When you genuinely love your community and invest in its success, it gives back in ways that create lasting connections and opportunities for everyone.
I’m most proud of my growth, personally and as a business owner. Every challenge has strengthened my resilience, every obstacle has sharpened my skills, and every win has reinforced that I’m exactly where I’m meant to be.
We’re coming up on our two-year anniversary and experiencing phenomenal growth in business, but getting here wasn’t easy. I had to learn everything from scratch, like how to market myself, stand out in a saturated industry, and build relationships that turn into long-term business.
Growth doesn’t happen overnight, but every small step adds up. The key is to keep moving forward, adapt as needed, and trust that the work you put in today will pay off tomorrow.
I want the world to know that Fillion Notary isn’t just a business, it’s a testament to what’s possible when you take a leap, bet on yourself, and stay committed to your vision. It’s proof that when you step into your purpose and uplift your community, incredible things happen.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
A perfect week in Downtown Raleigh is all about good food, fun, and making the most of the city. Saturday starts with a morning walk at Dorothea Dix Park, followed by brunch and mimosas at Tupelo Honey and a stop at the State Farmers Market. End the night with dinner and drinks at Wye Hill, where the skyline views steal the show.
For family-friendly fun, explore Marbles Kids Museum or the NC Museum of Art, then head to Pullen Park for a carousel ride, playground time, or a pedal boat on the pond.
For a work and play balance, set up at The Commons, a top coworking space in the Wells Fargo Building, with coffee from Birdie’s downstairs. After work, unwind at Boxcar Bar & Arcade or grab a drink at Raleigh Beer Garden—the perfect way to mix productivity with fun!
After work, unwind with games at Boxcar Bar & Arcade, or head to Raleigh Beer Garden for drinks with a view. It’s the perfect way to balance work, networking, and fun in the heart of the city!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My biggest shoutout goes to my husband and kids, who have been my constant source of love and motivation. Balancing motherhood and entrepreneurship isn’t easy, but their support makes it possible. I’m beyond grateful to have a family that believes in me as much as I believe in this business, and I couldn’t ask for a better support system.
