We had the good fortune of connecting with Phillipe Coley and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Phillipe, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My thought process is having the chance to share my creativity and art with everyone, and welcoming everyone to the world of Doc Skippy.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Time has always been either my friend or my enemy throughout my life time. After completing 20 years in the military. I finally wanted to do something that express myself and my inner creativity. Which was definitely a challenge. Funding, time, and work as diesel mechanic has played a big part in the hurdles that I had overcome. One of the biggest lessons I have learned that you have to believe in yourself, even if you feel that no one does. What I would like to share with the world is that you should definitely get you a pair of Doc Skippys. You will stand out. I Dare you to be different.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Downtown Charlotte, NC and Shelby North Carolina.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to give a big shout out to my mentors from Snarkeez which is run by Rudy and Anastasia. Who have helped and molded Doc Skippy to the awesome brand that is to this day. Big shout out to Brandon Leak of Yo Customs for his amazing videography work, skills and hard work that has pushed my brand even further.
