We had the good fortune of connecting with Pamela Turner and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Pamela, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
As a practitioner who also endures many pains similar to my clients, I can whole heartedly relate to all of them in different ways making their massage sessions more personable with me. Being able to take in what is specific to my clients and helping each individual based on their needs is what’s most important behind my success. I pride myself on continuing to learn and gain as much knowledge as I can to elevate my career to become the best me I can be!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What sets me apart from other massage therapists in my career is that I have taken it upon myself to take on a more advanced medical approach to doing what I do. My profession isn’t one that specifically targets the medical aspect and I want to make it my mission to showcase what I do and the benefits of it. Learning what I know now has not been easy in any way. It has taken many hours of hands on experience, self teaching, sleepless nights, many exams and studying my craft to gain more advanced knowledge that is not taught in massage therapy school. It has taken personal dedication and discipline to remain focused. The lessons I have learned along the way is that there is never a time limit on becoming great at your goals and dreams! I have come a long way in my career and I’m going to continue to becoming greater than who I was the day before.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Being that my best friend has never been here I would definitely take her on an entire day trip of good eats and checking out some scenery! We are both nature girls so she appreciates the same things I do and loves to clean eat as well!

Our morning will definitely start at first watch to get some breakfast or brunch because well they have some of the best food! I’m not a drinker so that doesn’t concern me but there are plenty of abc stores around lol! Or we would just go to cheddars because they have some of the best cocktails I have heard of.

We would take a drive to Raleigh and hang out at top golf for some fun and more food!

And then find a room to crash in because driving back home is a task after having fun in Raleigh sometimes!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to shout out everyone who I have come across in my career path but now specifically Brittany Foti for taking an immense chance on me and bringing me along side her at Valor Massage to continue to help everyone in need of my service skills in this industry. Shout out to Cari Piatt, Rylee Sykes, Antwan Murphy (Midas), and Jenna Saunders for always being my guinea pigs in helping them with my touch along the way!

But most importantly where it all started with my education and instructors while in school just shy of 5 years ago.
