Meet Myles Brown | Multimedia Artist and Marketing Strategist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Myles Brown and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Myles, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I am an artist that has been transitioning slowly from strictly digital art into traditional and fine art over the last few years. I have learned that throughout my travels, the best way to take risks is to learn from other artists. Travel through different cities and study the artifacts and historical monuments in the cities you go to. Go to different bookstores and art galleries to see the art in them and learn about the techniques that artists use in order to make their work unique.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My work is well-known for its eastern nature inspired art style. I specialize in creating surrealism and abstract designs. My subject matter consists of eastern mythology, nature, astrology, and pop culture respectively. The inspiration for my work came from learning how to make art that resonates with people emotionally without sacrificing my ideas because of my experiences with streetwear companies ArtsFighters and TobioMerch. I am inspired by the mythos and manuscripts of eastern mythology, particularly Asian. My favorite Asian gods are Fujin, Raijin, and Amaterasu, and my favorite Greek gods are Ares, Athena, Zeus, and Poseidon. The cool ones as most historians would say.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The first place I would take him to is CINEBISTRO. It is a movie theatre in Cary, North Carolina. I also would need to take that person to an Art gallery as well to show him the vintage work that North Carolina has to offer. The best art museum that I can think of is the CAM Raleigh museum. I would mostly likely take a friend of mine to either Whole Foods or Mojos. Mojos is my favorite restaurant in North Carolina.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
So, The first few companies that I want to give a shoutout to is Munjo Munjo and the Next Chapter Books and Arts. These were the first companies to ever start selling my art into their stores. Munjo Munjo is selling my art as postcards in their store and on their Patreon, and the Next Chapter Books and Arts is now selling my art as prints in their New Bern store. They have helped me get so much. My family and friends that I have met during this short journey is also who I want to give a shoutout to as well. I have talked with and met with artists who help me along the way when it comes to evolving my craft. Some of them include Kyndall Owens, Garland, and Gabi Perkins to name a few. Kyndall Owens owns Kreativityy LLC while Gabi owns elledevphoto. I also wanted to give a shoutout to Raleigh Film and Arts Festival for having me as a vendor. It was a fun experience, and it was first time being able to share my art with students at NC State. Triangle Artworks is where I am getting a bit of my art education from. I currently take an art class there, and it is a lot of fun being able to dive more into the arts. I also want to give a shoutout to Yagg Sii Tenn for being the first company in North Carolina to hire me to paint a mural. One more shoutout that I would like to give is to Venus Clouds. She is a podcast host who is from Raleigh that also supports artists in both Raleigh and in her current home in Chicago.
