We had the good fortune of connecting with Mohammad Sadat and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Mohammad, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
When Iconic Bond (Ahmed Radwan) and I founded The House of Creatives (THOC), our decision was rooted in addressing a crucial need within our community. We recognized a gap that needed to be filled, specifically providing a platform for under-represented creatives to amplify their voices and gain visibility.

For me personally, I find great satisfaction in the strategic planning process, particularly in how we navigate and overcome obstacles, especially within the realms of marketing and creativity—areas that ignite my passion. It’s the journey itself that truly excites me, knowing that each challenge we encounter presents an opportunity for growth and innovation.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The House of Creatives (THOC) is more than just a business, it truly is a passion project that embodies our mission of providing a pathway for under-represented creatives. What truly sets THOC apart is that it’s a 501c3 nonprofit organization, fostering a vibrant and diverse community where talent flourishes.

What makes THOC truly special is the vibrant, diverse community it fosters. We bring together creatives from various backgrounds and disciplines, and this dynamic mix is what fuels our passion.

Working with such a talented pool of individuals is what excites me the most. It’s a journey of collaboration and inspiration, one that constantly reminds me of the boundless potential within our community.

Our path hasn’t been without its challenges, but every obstacle has taught us something valuable. One early milestone that stands out is the networking event we organized. Meeting local creatives and sharing our vision was a defining moment that reinforced our commitment.

One crucial lesson I’ve learned is that exceptional talent often lurks in unexpected places. The key is to reach out, connect, and unearth the incredible artists and visionaries who may not always be in the spotlight.

As a fellow introverted creative, I understand the courage it takes to put yourself out there. While recognition isn’t my primary motivation, I want everyone to know that I’m here as a support system for fellow creatives.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Oh man, I love this question!

So, if you know me, you know that I’m all about supporting local businesses, not only because I want to support them, but because I truly love their business and what they’re about.

When it comes to food, I have my usual places I like to eat at: Bosphorus Restaurant and Istanbul Restaurant I enjoy for a nice dine-in experience. Both are Turkish restaurants and have phenomenal food. I highly recommend them.

For a quick bite, I enjoy going to Sassool a lot. It’s a very healthy Mediterranean option. If I want a slice of pizza, I go to Slice of NY Pizza, its right there on Hillsborough St, across from my alma mater, NC State University.

For dessert, Asali would be my number one option, followed by Brecotea. Asali is a must-try, a very modern and unique Middle Eastern cafe, with amazing fresh-made pastries and desserts.

Most of my hanging out involves food, haha, but I do like going on walks around NC State’s campus, getting ice cream from Howling Cow, and taking in the weather.

Surprisingly, I’m not really into the nightlife scene, but there are tons of great things to do in downtown Raleigh. I do enjoy deep house shows quite a bit, so I am definitely always on the lookout for those.

Aside from that, I enjoy the Fall and Winter here, usually around a bonfire, hanging out with my close friends and family.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First and foremost, I’d like to extend my deep gratitude to God, as all Praise and Credit are due to God, Most High. My faith is central to every decision I make, and I navigate life with the understanding that while we can plan diligently, it’s God who ultimately orchestrates our paths. Whether we encounter opportunities that blossom into something beautiful or face challenges that test our patience, I firmly believe there is a purpose in each outcome.

Next, I want to express my appreciation to my friends and family. I keep my inner circle intentionally small, and their unwavering support and motivation have been instrumental in my journey. Surrounding oneself with the right people profoundly influences one’s mindset and outlook, and I’m grateful for their positive influence.

Lastly, I’d like to dedicate a shoutout to myself. I believe in pushing my boundaries and striving for excellence in all that I undertake. Dedication and determination have been driving forces behind my pursuits, and I’m proud of the commitment I bring to every endeavor.
