Meet Meshalia Satterwhite | Licensed Esthetician

We had the good fortune of connecting with Meshalia Satterwhite and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Meshalia, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I love providing result driven treatments to my clients and making them feel relaxed and pampered. I do believe for some of us in the esthetic industry, it takes time and experience to work up to starting your own business and that’s what I did. I’ve met so many wonderful people who have helped me get to where I am today.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Zen Skn Studio is the place to come relax and reset. We offer facial services that have choices of enhancements as well as full body waxing services. We are excited to announce that we now have a body care line of oil sprays to help keep your body moisturized throughout the day. They come in both feminine and masculine scents. Being in this industry for over 3 years has taught me a lot of do’s and don’ts. I’ve also had a lot of connections with other successful estheticians who have been in the treatment room for over a decade and their words of encouragement always keep me motivated.
There are so many challenges that you face as an esthetician but they can also be short lived. Coming into the Esthie world, you commit to being a forever student. Continuing to educate yourself and your clients about the body’s largest organ is key!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
First things first, Sunday morning service is a must at “The River Church” in Durham, NC! I am a huge foodie so service I would take them to brunch at “Its a Southern Thing” for their fried green tomatoes and chicken and waffles skewers. Our activities through the weekdays would include shopping at Southpoint Mall, walking the trails at Eno Park, Axe Throwing at Urban Axes and hopefully the Food Truck Rodeo is coming the following weekend at Durham Central Park so we can try some new foods!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
