We had the good fortune of connecting with Mena Garcia and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Mena, is there something you can share with us that those outside of the industry might not be aware of?
The amount of behind the scenes work in order to run our business successfully! Time spent doing administrative work, restocking products, cleaning/organizing kits and brushes, social media, training and hiring team members, and managing our websites!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I like to describe our hair and makeup style as “natural glam” which in my eyes, is that effortless glowy look that is an enhanced version of your best self! I am extremely proud of our team and quality of work. We always strive to provide an energetic client experience combined with highly skilled hair and makeup applications.

I believe I am where I am today because I truly cherish each bride & client that I come across and value their trust in us!

It has definitely not been easy getting to where I am today- there has been so much work, time and love poured into my business, my team and our clients over the last 9 years!

One of the most important lessons I have learned about starting my business, is to remind myself to have fun and stay positive when things get stressful or overwhelming.

I would love for the world to know that my brand represents enthusiasm, passion and love for all of our clients in order for them to feel like their best selves!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We must start our first morning at Sola Coffee Cafe in North Raleigh! It is the perfect spot to get a delicious breakfast, perfectly made coffee and relax to start your day. A great follow up would be a visit to the NC Museum of Art, we can spend most of the day strolling inside and out taking in all the art and exhibits.

For a following day exploring Durham some I love to drop into Bean Traders coffee near Southpoint Mall and then follow that with a beautiful stroll around the gorgeous Duke Gardens right on Duke’s campus.

Some favorite lunch and dinner spots would include the always unique Gonza Tacos y Tequila, Gravy for a traditional Italian with the best spicy caesar I’ve had, Whiskey Kitchen for an open air vibe with great bites, and finally a personal favorite of ours Brewery Bhavana. If you want to stop by a beautiful stone bar, book shop, flower shop, and warm dining room then that will be a must try for all!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Kendra Scott- I worked for her brand for 3 years and I learned so much for her and the way she runs her business. My number one priority is our customer service and experience we provide to our client!
