Meet Melody Lucas | Mel’s Gifted Hands

We had the good fortune of connecting with Melody Lucas and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Melody, we’d love to start by asking you about lessons learned. Is there a lesson you can share with us?
The importance of adaptability. Being able to adjust to changing market conditions, customer needs, and unforeseen challenges is crucial for long-term success.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My name is Melody Lucas with “ The Reel Way” and I am a iPhone photographer / videographer and content creator. I am a Media Visionary. I bring visions into reality all while using just my smartphone. I really enjoy teaching others how to use the very thing that’s in their hands to build their brand! I also enjoy seeing my work evolve and hear the testimonies. I started my business serving at my church, I mean I’ve always had creativity on the inside of me but it really wasn’t until I submitted my gift to God that I started to see him expand me in another level of creativity in every area of my life. I would say that I have had seasons of my life where I just wanted to stay in obscurity because I didn’t want to expand my gift nowhere else but where I was which is submitted to my church because that’s where it all began and my heart is to serve but however, my leaders help me to see from a different lens with guidance and wisdom that there comes a time where your gift grows out and needs to be shared to the world with a fee of course. That you can still do the kingdom’s work and your work too. There has never come a time where I don’t enjoy doing content. I do this in my sleep! My brain never stops. It’s like God is speaking through me and it comes out in my creativity. How amazing! I believe this is one of my god given purpose of why I am here. When God created me, he created another creator. I’ve heard that if you find something you love to do without getting paid for it, you have found purpose. I want people to know that the “Reel Way” is just a brand to get the message across that you can use what’s in your hands because it is enough! Use what you have and submit it to God and once you do that, you’ll start to see the very tool become more than you every thought it would be.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
For a week-long trip designed to dazzle my best friend, I’d curate an itinerary that balances adventure, relaxation, culinary delights, and cultural immersion. Assuming we’re in a place rich in natural beauty and cultural heritage, let’s dive into an unforgettable journey. Day 1: Welcome and Relaxation
Upon arrival, we’d start with a laid-back day to unwind from travel. The day would begin with brunch at a local café known for its farm-to-table approach, offering a taste of the region’s freshest ingredients. Following brunch, a visit to a nearby spa for some pampering and relaxation would set the tone for the week ahead. In the evening, a casual dinner at a rooftop restaurant would provide stunning views of the city, paired with a menu that showcases local flavors.
Day 2: Cultural Immersion
The next day would be dedicated to exploring the rich cultural parts of the area. This would include a guided tour of historic landmarks, museums, and art galleries. Lunch would be enjoyed at a restaurant famed for its traditional cuisine, offering a deep dive into the region’s culinary heritage. The afternoon would be spent browsing local markets and artisan shops, with the opportunity to meet local craftsmen and purchase unique souvenirs. The day would end with a visit to a theatre or performance hall for a show highlighting traditional music and dance.
Day 3: Adventure Awaits
Day three would ramp up the excitement with outdoor adventures. Depending on the region, this could mean a day of hiking in nearby mountains, kayaking along a scenic river, or even a hot air balloon ride at dawn. The focus would be on experiencing the natural beauty of the area. Lunch would be a picnic with locally sourced delicacies, enjoyed in the heart of nature. The evening would offer a well-deserved rest, with dinner at a laid-back, yet highly recommended, local eatery.
Day 4: A Day at Leisure
Midweek calls for a day of leisure to explore at one’s own pace. This could involve lounging at a beach or park, visiting a local library or bookshop, and enjoying cafes and small bistros. The day would be free-form, allowing for spontaneous decisions and discoveries, truly embracing the local way of life.
Day 5: Culinary Exploration
Foodies rejoice, as this day would be a culinary exploration. Starting with a cooking class in the morning to learn how to prepare regional specialties. Lunch would be savored at an innovative restaurant pushing the boundaries of traditional cuisine. The afternoon would be spent on a food and drink tasting tour, from local wineries or breweries to chocolate and cheese makers. Dinner would be an affair to remember at one of the area’s most acclaimed fine dining establishments.
Day 6: Off the Beaten Path
Exploring lesser-known sites would be the focus of the penultimate day. This could involve visiting a secluded natural reserve, a day trip to a nearby village known for a specific craft or cultural practice, or even a scenic drive through the countryside. The idea would be to experience places that are not on every tourist’s radar, providing a unique and personal encounter with the region.
Day 7: Farewell in Style
The final day would be about soaking in as much of the area as possible before departing. This would include a leisurely breakfast, a last stroll through the most cherished spots visited during the week, and a farewell lunch at a beloved local spot. The afternoon and evening would be left open for packing and reflection on the week’s adventures, ending with drinks at a bar with panoramic views, offering a moment to toast to the trip and the memories made.
Throughout the week, the emphasis would be on creating a blend of activities that cater to a range of interests, from the thrill of adventure to the tranquility of nature, the richness of culture to the delights of gastronomy, all while ensuring plenty of moments for relaxation and personal exploration. The goal would be to not just visit, but to connect with the essence of the place, leaving with memories that would last a lifetime.
