Meet Meagan Culkin | Owner and Lead Designer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Meagan Culkin and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Meagan, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I am a third generation small business owner, and while I hadn’t always grown up thinking I would own a business one day— it was the world that I knew and was comfortable with.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
In addition to wedding coordination we offer full service design which includes custom wedding signage and graphic design. We also offer corporate and social event planning, as well as balloon installations and bartending services.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
The beauty of the triangle is that there are so many things to do and see in each area. Raleigh has some great museums, NCMA and NC Museum of Natural Science are both great— or Marbles is always a fan favorite if you have kids.

Poole’s diner has the best Mac and cheese ever, so definitely go there, and there are a ton of awesome breweries to check out at well— Trophy is probably my favorite.

Durham is awesome for so many things— whether you’re going to see a show at DPAC, a baseball game at Durham Bulls, or eating at Durham food hall, you really can’t go wrong.

Chapel Hill is definitely more spread out and nature-focused for those who like hiking, Jordan Lake, etc., and of course the Duke UNC rivalry games if you can catch one!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The thing that makes Magnolia Collective is our team. This group of ladies shows up for clients on nights and weekends in their spare time when they could be spending time at home with their friends and loved ones. Instead, they choose to execute 12+ hour event days, sometimes in the midst of 100 degree temperatures or hurricane season, all with a smile on their face. I will forever be grateful for this team that goes above and beyond the call of duty for our couples, whether that means cleaning a bridal suite so the couple doesn’t come back to a mess, running to the store to get more ice for the bartenders, or setting the tables to make an easier day for the catering team, the ladies who are always asking what more they can do to help us why we have been so successful over the years.
