We had the good fortune of connecting with Mary Trice and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Mary, how does your business help the community?
The Mary Trice Foster Care Foundation Inc helps my community by supporting the foster care system so that children in the Raleigh /Durham NC area can continue to get the aid and guidance they need. The foundation improves the quality of life for many young children who need nurturing.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am currently working on getting my Real Estate license. I got my schooling certificate from Pan School of Real Estate. It’s very difficult due to the time constraints. I want to be a real estate agent because Real estate professionals make, on average, 25 percent more income than all workers. The stronger your business skills are, and the more you put into the career, the more you’ll get out of it. I want to be in charge of my own transactions, and I love how there isn’t a salary cap or a set amount of time you have to work before you get a raise. There are no limits with income and I love that.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I will tell them to visit Wake County Social Services Dept and donate money or materials to help foster children sleeping on the floor at the social services department. Nothing is more important than helping our future generations. They need us .

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
This shoutout is dedicated to my dad Rev. Mack Lewis. My whole life I watched you let me down as I stood allowing you . I watched you not attend any school events, not buy birthday gifts or attend my wedding . I watched you disappear from me, and leave me and return to my life like everything was ok. I watched you hurt me and think you had the right not to apologize to me.

I prayed you could have been the father I wanted you to be. I prayed every night you could love me like all other fathers did their daughters . I wish I had a dad, but from the way things have gone over 37 years, I never will. I’ll be the bigger person to say though that I will always love you. I dedicate this Shoutout to my dad because his absence in my life has made me the woman I am today.
