Meet Mandy and Andy Long | Owner operators of the #1 Cleaning service in NC

We had the good fortune of connecting with Mandy and Andy Long and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Mandy and Andy, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My wife and I both had thrown around the idea of working for ourselves for as long as we could remember but the rat race was starting to really take a toll on our mental. We sat one night and came up with the idea of starting our own junk removal service. We figured that if we were going to do bad, we were going to do bad by ourselves and not on anyone else’s watch. Best decision we ever made. We got our first job from a friend of ours that runs a construction business. He asked if we had ever done carpet removal. We said “yeah no problem” that led to if we had experience in light demolition. “Of course” we said. The job was a success and he told us to check out thumbtack if we wanted to try and get some local jobs to keep us afloat while we build. As I navigated the site I realized you can just add any service you want and get hits from local customers needing services. I think when we first started I had added around 10-15 services. We really started getting multiple hits for house cleaning. After the first few houses we bought a pressure washer. Next we started washing windows, and doing junk removals, and painting and the list goes on! This is where the idea of becoming a full service cleaning company came into play. We wanted our company to be a family name with a positive message. That somebody can rely on us to give quality work at a fair price and not have to call multiple companies to get a job done. We now offer over 20 different services and have been in business since July of 2020 and are growing more each day!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m ex Military and Mandy is a hairdresser/accountant by trade. Cleaning with a Meaning is not just a cleaning company but a full service anything you need done we can do it and do it better than the next guy company. We aren’t the cheapest company around but we are the best around and our prices are fair. You need your houses painted? Done. You need flooring installed? Done. You need somebody to knock down a few walls for a renovation? Done. Plumbing? Done. Electric work? Done. We pride ourself in delivering quality professional work for an affordable price. We are on time and communication is key. That’s what sets us apart. We want to change the narrative in the industry. We are doing a good job of that I do believe. I piece of key advice is to never start your company in Debt as well. Starting a business and playing catch up is in needed stress and not good for business and health. Cleaning with a Meaning. The name says it all. We mean what we say

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We would take them to Charlotte and shopping at Concord Mills. Drive by the Bank of America Stadium where the Panthers play. That’s an hour and half south. We could also go to Greensboro to downtown and let them see the Carolina theater and have lunch at hops burger bar. To be honest we live about 20 min south of Greensboro in Asheboro and the culture here is growing at a rapid rate. We could take a trip to sunset ave and check out all the Antique shops especially Antiques and Geeks and then grab a bite to eat at the Table or CJ oldtowne. The opportunity is endless in our area.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I think overall we give the glory to God for allowing us to have the focus and determination to succeed at something so necessary and positive for our family and community. Without his grace and mercy we would not be able to be as successful as we are today and for that we give him the Glory first. Honestly I would like to say thank you to John Quakenbush for giving me the much needed info in the beginning of our journey. Other than that our friends and family for being supportive in our endeavors. My father Passed away in 2021 but he was so proud of what we created and that means the world to my wife and I. He taught me that hard work pays off so to anyone with a dream or an idea, work hard at it and keep hustling and grinding. Risk it all and never regret
