We had the good fortune of connecting with Mali Barnett and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Mali, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I chose an artistic creative career because it allows me to solve problems in novel ways, think outside the box, communicate effectively, stand out, adapt to change, and develop meaningful relationships and connections.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
– I stand out as an artist through my unique perspective, innovative approach and a deep connection to my creative process. My ability to blend creativity with creating a sense of fluidity and dynamic movement with acrylic paint & resin, capturing a lively unpredictable sets me apart, creating a distinctive and memorable artistic identity. – 2. I began my professional career a few years ago. Although I am not yet at my ideal objective, I consider this phase as a critical stepping stone. I’ve actively explored possibilities for advancement, polished my abilities, and remained persistent in pursuing my long-term career goals. Each stage has been a fantastic learning experience that has contributed to my professional progress.
-The journey has taught me invaluable lessons, emphasizing the importance of patience and persistence. Additionally, a crucial insight has been recognizing that not everyone is part of my target audience. These realizations have significantly shaped my approach to both challenges and opportunities in my professional path.
– As a growing artist, you can take immense pride in your continuous artistic development, the evolution of your unique style, and the expanding body of work that reflects your creative journey. Additionally, the excitement lies in the potential for new opportunities, collaborations, and the impact your art may have on a broader audience as you progress in your artistic career.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
First off if I’m in my home town nobody is staying with me a week..two-three days max and then you’re on your own lol. We’re for sure going to mezcalitos for ACPs & margs. Then I’d find some local live music in the area. We’d dance and chat with the other locals. I’d also hit up the art museum.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
A special thanks to my daughter for her innovative thinking, which has been a huge help on this journey. I’m thankful to my friends and family for their continuous encouragement and support, even when they had no idea what path I was on. Above all, I thank God for His guidance, as spiritual alignment has been critical in allowing me to traverse this journey.
