We had the good fortune of connecting with Madison Jay and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Madison, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind my success is my resiliency and my level high level of consistency. There’s no one like me as an artist and I took that and created a brand like no other.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I mean, what separates me from the pack, is my ability to stay true to myself. I’ve always had an affinity for standing out. I’m pretty much everything I say I am. Music gives me the space to speak to those I wouldn’t speak to normally. Modeling allows people to see me in a different light. Creating clothing allows people to see a creative side of me that they wouldn’t see with music. The beauty of it is all these things make up the essence of me.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
When you come to the city Raleigh expect to have a genuine good time. We’re going to hit up some of the city’s well know eateries like Big Ed’s, Copper’s, Tupelo Honey, Lee’s Kitchen, and The Dankery. We gotta hit Glenwood South to party. Slide thru Umstead Park for a good hike and burn time. It’s very mandatory to catch a basketball or football game at one of the colleges or even a high school game!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to give flowers to my chief advisor, Michael Welsh, Tavaron Marshall, Charles Luberisse, Michael King who records about 75% of my material, the entire HGS/County! Family. Thank y’all sincerely from the bottom of my heart for all you’ve done and keep doing for my career.
