We had the good fortune of connecting with Lydia Doyen and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lydia, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Me and my husband had decided we wanted a way to earn extra money and be creative. My husband has experience with machining and using programs to design things. So it just made sense to get a laser engraver and program to create products.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Me and my husband create products and personalized products. We have created Christmas ornaments, cutting boards, signs, and are working on tumblers. We want to help people create the perfect gift for someone special in their lives.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We would visit the NC Zoo, Pullman Park, go hike at Raven Rock, visit the Mall in Raleigh, and take time to just rest and relax.

I would make sure we would go to the Bladen Asian Grill food truck in Fayetteville, Cheesecake Factory, Piada Italian Street Food, Mojoe Burger Joint, and we would just look up other good places to go to.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My best friend Heather. She is always encouraging me.
