Meet Loghan Burkes | NC/SC Real Estate Agent

We had the good fortune of connecting with Loghan Burkes and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Loghan, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
So, about three years ago, I decided to take the leap, left the school system as an educator and become my own boss in a field that I genuinely had a passion for stemming from childhood when my great grandparents would take me around town to different open houses as a hobby on the weekends. As a former educator, I knew my heart was no longer in it, I had fallen out of love with the idea of teaching and I knew I needed a change. There’s often a deep satisfaction in building something that is truly your own. I envisioned myself creating a business that reflected my values and ideals for my future which ultimately turned my passion into my profession!
What should our readers know about your business?
I am a licensed real estate agent based in Charlotte NC, servicing NC and SC. Growing up in Charlotte I pride myself in being extremely versed on my city. I seldomly use my gps and love to call my great sense of direction my superpower. In the beginning of my career it was difficult, in a world of social media presence getting someone to work with you over the agent that posted they had 6 closing in the last month can be a bit of a task. Being transparent; there were several times in the first two years I contemplated quitting but I am so thankful I didn’t. I took a step back and revamped my approach and brand, changed firms and decided I had no other option but to succeed in this business. Costello Real Estate and Investments has been an amazing firm to be apart of with the best support and I haven’t looked back yet and neither has my business! My motto for this year is striving and elevating
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my bestie was visiting for a week, my itinerary would include lots of food. I would call myself somewhat of a foodie, I love to eat and I love to try new restaurants in the city. I don’t just love the fancy restaurants I also love “hole in the wall” spots so my love for food usually has me all over the city! For breakfast a few of go to places include Stockyard Restaurant, Snooze AM Eatery, The Wafflery and Easy Like Sunday. For lunch I love a lunch special so I would suggest Mr Charles Chicken and Fish, Pinky’s Westside Grill and The Waterman Fish Bar. Can’t give away all my local secrets so I will stop there on the food Lol! A few of my favorite activities in CLT include Topgolf, Activate, Beat the bomb and sporting events like catching a Hornets game at Spectrum Center!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My shoutout goes to my amazing Mom! There aren’t enough words to truly express how grateful I am for everything she has done and continues to do. She has been my rock, my biggest supporter, and my constant source of encouragement, especially during those times when I was getting back on my feet. During my transition of going from a career with a steady salary to becoming self employed, she graciously allowed me to get my business off the ground. Her unwavering belief in me, and the comfort of having a safe and loving home to return to, made all the difference. She didn’t just open her door; she opened her heart and gave me the space and support I needed to build the life I have today. Mom, you are a true inspiration, and I am so incredibly lucky to have you. I love you more than words can say!
