We had the good fortune of connecting with Lisa Dalton and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lisa, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I thought it would be wonderful if I was able to share how I found my joy and peace within with others. It wasn’t just enough for me to share my smile with the world, but I wanted to people to know how they too could have a smile and share it as well. I also work in my church with the evangelistic team and deliverance ministry. And through those two ministries I have witnessed the oppression of so many women who if they had the tool, could find peace within. So, I became a Life Coach. I use the tools that helped me with my clients.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am employed with Novant Health. BUT that’s not what I’m most excited about in my career or in my brand. I have a very successful (I consider it to be) Podcast and Morning Devotional named Lisa 6:3. I am most excited about both of them because they have reached hundreds of people across the world. I started writing blogs in 2012 after I left Novant for 6 years. That’s when I started working on myself and doing my spiritual work to find my peace within. The blogs evolved into a Podcast in 2019 and named Finding Peace Within with Lisa L. Dalton. And from that Podcast, I’ve been able to teach the word of God and do segments that has helped empower people to live in their authentic bodies. Be who they be when they be. Then in 2020 The Lord gave me Lisa 6:3. It was right in the middle of the Pandemic and so many people were dying and losing hope. I started out going live on Face Book, then I switched to posting the devotionals on all my social media platforms. I have gotten so many calls, texts, im’s and other forms of messaging from people stating how blessed they were from both the podcast and Lisa 6:3. The challenges were staying consistent and believing that people were listening. The lesson I learned is that consistency is what you need to do well at anything. What I want the world to know about me and my brand is this. Life will happen, but you have the power to get up, Smile, Show up and Succeed every day for yourself. And that a Centered Soul is a Centered Mind.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
This is a hard one for me because I am a home body and church girl, gym rat and yard junky. 🙂 But for the sake of the question. Let me see.

1. We’ll go to breakfast at SunRise on Albemarle Road. The best breakfast in town and it’s affordable.
2. Then we’ll go uptown and walk around… NOTE: I’ve never been on the light rail… LOL
3.Because I love working out and walking, we’ll take a drive up to Crowders Mountain and make it a fun hiking day.
4. Back to the house to relax
5. We’ll have dinner at Kabuto’s as I really like Japanese Food. There wouldn’t be any drinking involved as I don’t drink.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to recognize my Graphic Artist, Ms. Ebony Murrell who believed in my writing and helped me publish my first book. She was very encouraging and helpful on how to go about compiling the book. She also gave me a chance to be a part of her platform and in her magazine as a Fitness Trainer. She really opened the door for me and allowed me to see what could become of my writing and my gift.
