Meet Leslie Wright | International Best Selling Author & Event Planner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Leslie Wright and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Leslie, as a parent, what have you done for you children that you feel has had the most significant impact?
I have taught my children how to fish! How to stand for what they believe in while also being empathetic and intelligent. I have told them that this world will expect much of them, but it shouldn’t be more than they expect of themselves.
What should our readers know about your business?
I am a Wedding & Event Coordinator who also consults, writes, and educates women in business between the ages of 30-55. My niche is unique as I help both businesses and individuals with what I call “911 budgets”, people with less than $5,000 to get their special events done. We are known for taking small to modest budgets and making dreams come true. I came from humble beginnings. I started hosting events for $100-$150! My partner and I at the time, aimed to get as many clients as we could so that we could build our portfolio. We were so booked we had to raise our prices just to control demand. Not long after I began running to company solo, as my partner finished college and moved on to other goals of hers. It was not easy but it has been worth it. God as my business partner has been the best experience of my life, to do kingdom work, is worthy work.
Challenges: How to price myself has been the biggest exploration. I recently became very comfortable with using sound judgement, and in doing so learning to be quiet when on the phone with prospectives, so that the Holy Spirit can do the negotiating and pricing not me.
Lessons: I have learned to not pre-judge anyone’s finances based on my own wallet. I have learned that God will always make a way if it’s supposed to be. I have learned to trust him completely in all things. I want the world to know we are here to create impact, not just dollars.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take them to our amazing luxury Koury Convention Center & Restaurant first. We would check them into their hotel, have lunch and then go have a spa day next door in our connected mall, Four Seasons Mall. We would then catch a movie right next door in their amazing movie theatre. We have to go see the newly releasead, “Color Purple” film.
Other places we would have to check out would be; The WoolWorth Museum, Bog Garden, and the Grandover Resort and Hotel for more spa time, the pool and amazing food. As far as people to meet it would have to be the woman who mentored me in business for awhile, Kim Marc, and the CEO of Dudley Hair Care Products would also be on the list!
Lastly, some other fun places that would make the list would be; RoundOne, Natty Greene’s for their burgers and my dear Alma Mater-UNCG.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
OMG! There is a V.I.P list, my red carpet worthy network of business women all over the country who support my brand. My mother who taught me to be a grerat mom, my dad who taught me to a great business woman for Christ. Business Strategist Beverly Walthour for coaching me to do my business soberly and to never apologize for mentioning God in everything I do.
