We had the good fortune of connecting with Leigh Bryant and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Leigh, how do you think about risk?
Honestly, when I launched my real estate career, it was a huge financial risk and looking back on that time in my life and the age that I was then, I just didn’t know enough to be scared. I was so young and so naive and willing and able to take risks because I was not yet married, children were not on the horizon, and I was simply playing the Game of Life – it had not yet sunk in how high the stakes actually were. Thankfully, I also did not like failure and I was a hard worker which was 100% necessary to get past the first couple of brutal years in a real estate business launch! I treated every day like a 9-5 job and went into the sales office and immersed myself in the activities of successful real estate agents and I did the activities that were required for success. Definitely had my fair share of failing forward.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Breaking into the real estate sales industry is not easy. The only thing more challenging than breaking into this industry is remaining successful and relevant in this industry. The thing I am most proud of and what I believe sets me apart, is the consistency of success and relevance that I have maintained. The only constant in life is change and I’m not sure that is more true anywhere but this the real estate world! Laws, regulations, supply, demand, mortgage rates, relocation trends, natural disasters, changes in leadership, major financial shifts in client base, etc. etc. The list of unforeseen changes is huge in our business and keeping your head on a swivel and paying attention to the needs and wants of your client base is key. It is extremely easy to be forgotten in this business. Remaining top of mind is a balancing act that needs constant attention and willingness to adapt. I think resiliency is the key to overcome the challenging nature of this business. It’s comfort in failure, it’s been able to laugh at yourself, it’s been able to admit when your wrong, it’s being able to see another perspective and continually being willing and able to meet them where they are. Everyone has a different story and everyone’s goals and needs in a real estate transaction are 100% individualized. I’m really proud of recognizing that fact early on and continuing to build my repeat class base with that focus.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would love a shout out to The CHM Collective. This is a networking group which is so much more than just networking. This group encompasses the Circle, Heart, and Mind of women business owners. The organization is a collaborate group of women coming together with common goal – to grow individually while also helping grow the circle, heart, and mind of others. Mel Miller was the founder of this organization – her super power was to see gifts and talents in others that they themselves did not know existed and she also had a way of “volun-telling” you how to use your gift and talent even it if meant going WAY outside your comfort zone. We have luncheons, speakers, masterminds, book clubs, speaker series, retreats, philanthropy opportunities, and now we even have a Foundation created to building more women owned businesses in the Charlotte area with mentorships, classes, curriculum, masterminds, and lessons on how to run a successful business. I’ve been a member of this amazing organization for nearly a decade now and it’s been the one consistent group in my world that continues to have an impact.
