Meet Lawrence Fleming | Branding & Lifestyle Photographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Lawrence Fleming and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lawrence, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most critical factors behind my personal success and the success of my brand are my ability to learn from my mistakes, stay adaptable in any situation, my relationship with God, and the support of my wife and immediate family members. I always remember to leave room for errors and be ready for life’s unexpected challenges. This mindset has been crucial in navigating my life’s and industry’s unpredictable nature. When I make a mistake, I think about what I’ve done. Reflecting on what went wrong helps me understand the root cause of the error and find steps to prevent it from happening again. Holding myself accountable is essential to my growth and helps me constantly improve. Being adaptable is my strongest trait in a constantly changing world. The ability to pivot and adjust to new circumstances sets successful individuals and brands apart. Without adaptability, you risk stagnating and ultimately setting yourself up for failure. I believe that the strongest brands are unique, innovative, and adaptable. This belief is at the core of how I operate, whether in my personal or professional endeavors.
My faith as a Christian plays a significant role in my life. I’ve come to understand that we can’t do everything through our own efforts alone. Turning to God for guidance and relying on the support of my family and business mentors has been instrumental in my journey. Their collective guidance, wisdom, and support have given me the strength and clarity to overcome challenges and achieve my goals. I wouldn’t be where I am today without their presence and support. They are my rock, and they provide a steady source of emotional support, encouragement, and practical advice. Whether discussing business strategies, providing feedback on new ideas, or simply being there during tough times, their involvement has been invaluable. Their belief in me and my vision fuels my drive to succeed and helps me stay grounded and focused on what truly matters.
In summary, the combination of learning from my mistakes, staying adaptable, maintaining a solid relationship with God, and receiving unwavering support from my family and business mentors are the cornerstones of my personal and professional success. Together, these elements create a foundation that allows me to face challenges head-on, innovate continuously, and build a brand that stands out for its uniqueness and resilience.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I’m the founder and creative director of Fit Life Media Biz LLC, which serves Raleigh and surrounding areas. We specialize in helping business owners capture authentic brand photos and videos to enhance their online presence and attract their ideal clients. We also guide millennials who want to get in shape and maintain their well-being.
My inspiration to pursue a path in entrepreneurship came from my older sister, who was also a business owner. I gained practical knowledge of the business world by participating in various network marketing companies while studying business at North Carolina A&T State University. These companies taught me how to run a business, build a team, and sell products or services. In 2016, I began photography as a hobby. I received positive feedback from people who saw my photos, encouraging me to continue. Initially, I used my smartphone and a photo editing app to take pictures. I eventually purchased a professional camera and began practicing with friends. I learned much about photography through online courses and watching numerous YouTube videos.
My fascination with health and fitness began in 2017 as I embarked on a weight loss journey. By incorporating Herbalife Nutrition products, healthy eating habits, and consistent workout routines, I shed 35 pounds in just six months. My journey inspired me to educate and assist millennials in achieving their fitness goals by using Herbalife products or by implementing personalized and sustainable methods that fit their personalities and lifestyles. Through my passion for fitness and photography, I combined fitness and photography into one brand, and Fit Life Media was born during the pandemic in 2020. I also created a YouTube channel that same year where I provide fitness and photography tips. In 2023, I transformed my hobby into a serious business endeavor.
What sets my business apart is our customer-centric approach. We prioritize the needs of our clients and customize our services to fit their unique requirements. To ensure we’re always improving, we regularly solicit feedback from our customers, which helps us enhance their experience with our business.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend were coming to town, I’d make sure they have a fantastic time! First, we’d start the day by visiting the Museum of Art, my favorite art gallery. After soaking in some culture, we’d head to Dames Chicken & Waffles in Durham for a delicious brunch. Their chicken and waffles are to die for! Next, we’d go to the shopping center at Fenton in Cary, NC. It’s a great spot to shop and grab lunch at Sports & Social. The fun atmosphere and tasty food are perfect for a midday break. After shopping, we’d gather more friends and hit Top Golf in Durham. It’s always a blast, and a little friendly competition never hurts! Once we’ve worked up an appetite again, we’d have dinner at Piada Italian Street Food, which serves up some incredible dishes.
To wrap up the night, we’d head to Level 7 Rooftop Bar in North Hills. The views are stunning, and it’s the perfect place to relax with a drink and enjoy the evening.
For the rest of the week, I’d make sure we hit all the fun spots. We’d go go-karting at RushHour Karting-RTP, play games at Dave & Buster’s, and savor some amazing food at Jamaican Grille. Breakfasts would be at places like First Watch, Another Broken Egg, and Metro Diner. For a Mediterranean fix, we’d stop by Jasmin & Olivz. We’d also spend some time shopping at Southpoint Mall, smashing stuff at the Wreck-It Rage Room, and, if we’re lucky, catch a Carolina Hurricanes game to experience the local sports scene.
It would be a jam-packed week full of fun, adventure, food, and unforgettable memories!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to give a massive shout out to God. He has been my primary source of inspiration, guidance, unwavering faith, provision, resilience, and so much more. I wouldn’t have made it this far without his presence in my life.
I also want to thank my amazing wife, Jasmine. She has been there since Day 1, standing by me when I had nothing and was at my lowest point. Her belief and trust in me have kept me going, even when I thought about giving up. Jasmine’s love and support are beyond words; I’m forever grateful for her.
Lastly, I want to give my mom, dad, and big sister a heartfelt shoutout. They have laid the foundation for me to excel in life since I was young. Their support has come in so many ways: supernaturally providing when things were tough, offering impactful prayers, and showing me unconditional love. Their support was much needed and has been crucial in getting me to where I am today. I thank them from the bottom of my heart for everything they’ve done.
