We had the good fortune of connecting with Larry Sherrill and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Larry, what do you attribute your success to?
Staying consistent, by always doing the are best I can when I’m working. Being professional, showing up on time every time. Never being satisfied, always improving with practice and reaching for higher goals

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m super excited about what the future holds throughout the years things have become bigger and better so I’m just excited to see where it goes. Absolutely was not easy there were years I barely make 25k but my determination never faltered and all the people that told me I should quit and get a day job did nothing but fuel me to prove them all wrong. I never gave up because this deep down is what I wanted. I learned to be even keel take the good with the bad just know every day you’re not going to make 2k some days you make nothing just have to not stress about it. I want the world to know that if you have a dream or a goal just give it a full try like give it your all because you never know what can happen and if you fail then fine atleast you won’t go your whole life regretting not going for it.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
It’s way too many places to just name a couple to eat it, it’s the south most of the food is going to be good anyway. Now I would take them to go hang or have a drink at a couple places. The Local which is a very popular bar uptown, then next door is SIP another popular place, I would also say The Union as well as but It also depends on what’s going on in the city we have NBA, NFL and always are having concerts and things all over the city and there a ton of bars & clubs all over the city. We have museums and a lot non bar/club things to do as well

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
In this industry you can’t do it all by yourself it’s impossible, so a big shoutout to all the other Djs who I have networked with that helped get me more gigs, the managers at the venues and of course my friends/fans who have supported me
