We had the good fortune of connecting with Kyla Perkins and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kyla, why did you pursue a creative career?
I have always been deeply passionate about artistry and creativity which continues to grow from witnessing and being inspired by others and finding joy in crafting my own creations. I personally enjoy experiencing art and creating through movement, writing, DIY crafting, and singing. Art and creativity serve as vital bridges of connection among us, offering a holistic and therapeutic outlet for expression and exploration. Pursing these resources has proven to improve our clients self growth as well as their growth within their relationships.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Intimate Remedies is a safe haven for lovers, artist, and entrepreneurs. Whether you are single or in a committed relationship we provide resources from relationship coaching to date night services by offering creative and innovative activities. There are over 1500 platforms geared towards finding love. What sets us apart from others, is that we focus on starting from within and being intentional about how you give and receive love. Ultimately, nurturing your self growth and love is how you navigate and attract the love you desire to give and receive from others. It is always rewarding to know that we have played a part in the success of an individual’s growth and relationship. We have curated date nights for couples leading up to their wedding day.

One resource I love to share is yoga. I practice and instruct Hatha Yoga. The focus is all about controlling your energy and pouring in to yourself first before you pour out to others. Practicing yoga has been a remedy for gaining clarity, anxiety, mediation, and of course physical health.

Creating, maintaining, and having a successful business comes with its challenges. There are long hours paired with sleepless nights. When you are living in your passion and helping others along the way, it makes it all worth it. Also, building a team and collaborating with other entrepreneurs that share aligned goals is the perfect remedy for success.

Providing the resources we have is a reflection of our personal journeys. It is challenging to be vulnerable and self- reflect, it is also challenging to take ones own advice. Practicing and utilizing the resources we have created for myself, creates a stronger, wiser, and successful business owner.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Well, my best friend is also my business partner : ). Hypothetically speaking, my best friend would be visiting during the summer. Intimate Remedies will have an itinerary planned out for us with the theme of “Self- Care.”

One of our first stops would be a full on spa day. We would enjoy food catered by a professional chef, and leading to a night of festivities downtown Raleigh filled with live music all while being chauffeured in a limo.

Now imagine self care, entertainment, delicious food and drinks, creative activities, and premier transportation services all in one place. All I can say is, stay tuned for what we have in store for the Summer of 2024!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
With success, there are always individuals that are involved throughout the journey. I am grateful for the opportunity and platform to express my gratitude.

I would first like to give a shout out to my best friend, co-owner of Intimate Remedies, and relationship coach, TaChe Hooker. TaChe came to me with an idea using the art of dance to heal and grow relationships over 6 years ago and with our creativity and passion, it has blossomed to what we are today. Her artistry and creativity truly inspires me.

Secondly, my family, specifically my mother, Frances Perkins. She has been one of our most impactful supporters. She has been a long term and major donor to Intimate Remedies.

I would like to shout out NC Fitness Club of Raleigh where I instruct yoga classes.
I would also like to shout out my life partner of almost 9 years, James Thompson.

Lastly, I would like to give thanks to the businesses and entrepreneurs who have supported, collaborated, and built with Intimate Remedies. To name a few: Reggy Brown and Tony Smith of 4 Phones Entertainment, Rashaad McNeil of RM Productions, Danielle Still of Studio Motif, Santia Bailey of Petals and Stems Spa. and so many more amazing entrepreneurs that we continue to grow with.
