We had the good fortune of connecting with Krysteah Carroll and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Krysteah, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
The thought process behind starting my own business, Design Method, stemmed from a desire to blend creativity with strategic thinking in the realm of branding and website design. I saw the logical need for a ‘visual translator’ at every job I worked at, which had confirmed the forever need of art in the world of business. I’ve always been deeply passionate about design and its impact on business and society. This passion drove me to create a platform where I could express my creativity and help others bring their visions to life.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Design Method focuses on creating authentic brand identities with a bold design streak. This ‘streak’ is found through our branding design meetings – where we believe every entrepreneur and small business has a story to uniquely share visually, verbally and strategically with their ideal audience in mind. I had been designing logos and building websites right out of high school (over 15 years ago), not consecutively, but the passion to help cast a well thought visual direction and create it from big picture to small footprint, is still one of my favorite life challenges. Our mission is to help business owners establish their mark in the market they are in, to flourish in their role with a strong and unified brand presence. My goal for 2024 is to work with awesome people that want to pack a punch and change the world around them…and also need a logo suite and website.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would start the day in Raleigh with some local coffee and delicious smoothies at Blend (off Hillsborough St, Raleigh, near NC State Campus). Walk over to Pullen Park with huge carousal and red and yellow train pulling families around the pond and over bridges. I suggest downtown Raleigh to anyone wanting to experience a vibrant outside stroll with snacks and shopping. My absolute favorite coffee and breakfast spot is called The Optimist Raleigh, for the cutest, moody atmosphere with the best breakfast sandwiches. If I was with a traveling best friend, we would for sure do a tattoo walk-in appointment next door at the Raleigh Tattoo Company to celebrate our time together.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
