We had the good fortune of connecting with Kristin Foster and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kristin, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My son was born during the peak of Covid. Fear and anxiety surrounding the unknown stopped my husband and I from getting newborn photos of him. To this day that is my only regret in life! I started my business in hopes of preventing other moms from ever feeling that way! As a mom myself I know how overwhelming family photos can be and the invisible mental load that comes with planning them. My mission is to serve moms by offering a full service, stress free newborn, maternity, and family portrait experience along with beautiful artwork to remember ever detail for years to come.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
One of the things that sets me apart is understanding the invisible mental load that all moms are carrying and doing everything in my power to ensure thats not a barrier to creating timeless images. KMPNC has a client wardrobe and I will style the entire family! No more returning outfits or buying an outfit for your child to just wear once! You want your hair and makeup done? I got you! I’ll arrange them to come to your house or the studio prior to your session! Anything I can think of to make a mom’s life easier I am going to do it. Another thing I think that sets me apart is that I offer heirloom quality artwork to my clients! Too often images are left sitting on hard drives rather than being displayed.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If were staying in Apex we’re eating dinner at Scratch Kitchen or Sushi Suyu and then walking down to Fresh Ice Cream! We are definitely treating ourselves to facials at Cary Spa Retreat and then maybe exploring all Fenton has to offer!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Before I ever even dreamed of opening a business I reached out to my wedding photographer Taylor Landis. She was so kind and gave me advice on what a gear would be great to learn on and what education would be best to invest in. To this day she is one of my biggest cheerleaders on social media!

Through the education courses that Taylor recommended I met two other local photographers. Bernice Isley and Lauren Thornsen. We talk regularly and they always encouragement and keep me going.

I also want to thank my husband, Brandon! He has be so supportive and cheered me on and believed in me even when I doubted myself!
