We had the good fortune of connecting with Kerri Taylor and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kerri, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My thought process was first how can I implement the vision that God gave me and turn it into a business that clearly shows that vision. Once I established that answer then I began to build off of that vision and do research on what would work for the business that I was trying to birth. I chose to do an LLC for my T-shirt business. I also made room for growth by having my long term goals on the table with my short term goals. Everyday it’s a learning curve but I choose to be open to different strategies for growth.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’d like to describe my art as transformative and edifying. The phrases and art is all inspired by God and what He shows me. Especially if He leads me to do a personal painting for a person as a prophetic symbol for them to be encouraged. I am excited about growth in my art and ability to run a business. Right now 360 Ablaze is definitely in its infancy stage but I see great birthing come forth as I continue to get rooted in understanding of techniques/strategies in my style of art.

360 Ablaze is so much more than making Tshirts or pieces of art. It’s a movement that has a message. It’s letting the world know that we lift up our banners which is the name of the Lord, and we will not be ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ who transforms and makes us new. It’s about becoming a new creation through Jesus who sets us free.

This journey has not been easy because I am definitely learning as I go but I continue to trust the process. The biggest thing I have learned through this is 1.) don’t be afraid to make mistakes because that’s how we learn and 2.) never let the opinions of others shift you from your yes in the first place. If you have a dream and there is something burning on the inside for you to birth, I say go for it! Run with the vision and never look back. Only look forward to growth and what you were called to build in this hour. We have too many people comfortable staying complacent in this world system. I believe being an aspiring entrepreneur is like being a radical believer! It takes courage and patience to maneuver through the different ups and downs this process takes you on.

My faith and ability to stay consistent in knowing who God is to me has kept me going. Even with the waves of life right now has tried to discourage me to give up on what God has showed me in the first place but I choose to stand on the vision. I’m going to keep trying no matter how many no’s I get or failures I have. Because I know eventually there will be a yes. I know eventually everything I have been going through will be the key to someone else’s breakthrough.
My brand is for all the overcomers and future overcomers with the invitation to come and be transformed! Come and let’s together lift up His name who has time and time again helped us get through the very things that almost took us out. My brand is for the dreamers and courageous ones that is not afraid to be bold for Christ. Those that are ready to break out of the cycles of generational curses welcome! 360 Ablaze is for the warriors. It’s time to run the race of victory one step at a time! And we will be loud and proud about the God whom we serve.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my friend was visiting New Bern, I would definitely take them fishing on the Neuse! Then probably go downtown to get ice cream at Bear City Fudge Company to get some of their awesome fudge or butter pecan ice cream. If we were to go to dinner in the evening I would definitely take them to Cypress Hall to eat. They offer a variety of different meals that sends your pallet on a journey! I recommend their truffle fries.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to thank God for birthing this desire in me to dream big since I was a little girl. I can remember being a child and just having so much creative insight running through my mind daily. I knew then that my life would involve more than just working a 9 to 5. But my life would have substance to impact/shift my community, family, and peers. As I have grown in my relationship with Jesus, He has and is continuing to show me how to channel my personal experience and trials through my art and Tshirts that will remind people that He is the great I am! He is everything that we need and more. And that He wants to do a 360 transformational work in us daily from the inside out so we can be the shining lights in our communities.
