Meet Keon Lucas | Owner of 1Deep Outdoors

We had the good fortune of connecting with Keon Lucas and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Keon, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
So initially, my thought process behind starting 1deep outdoors was simply because I did not see a lot of representation of my culture in the outdoors. Would it be Hunting fishing or even just out in the wilderness exploring in general. And with that being said with me getting into this lifestyle, it was just me alone. I didn’t have any friends who would want to embark on this journey with me. It’s really just me and my 10 year-old son. Along the way I have acquired friends such as Colby Boone from North Carolina, and a bunch of other fellas along in my journey, which makes it a little bit easier to get out and hunt and fishing also being encouraged to do these things. Also, I’m hugely inspired by the group 24.7 Hunt out of Warner Robins Georgia. They are a group of Friends led by Ranar Moody, who travel across the country it’s to pursue their dreams.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
So professionally by trade, I am an HVAC mechanic I’ve been in the trade for almost 10 years. I went to school graduated an apprenticeship here in central Florida out of local 803 union hall.. It is a very busy schedule for me so finding time to get out and hunt can be tough at times, but somehow we get it done just out of the pure joy and love for being outdoors and fellowship with my brother. what I’ve learned along the way that is you’re never going to find time to do what you want unless you truly Have a love for what it is your seeking to do.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Well, I don’t get out a lot just because of the time restraints I don’t really have a lot of time but there’s a few places that we do like to frequent in the city which are very family. We like to visit was fun spot USA here in Kissimmee. There’s also one in Orlando, a great family fun atmosphere, you got rides and games and just a lot of activities for the family that do as a collective. To eat, we like to visit the food truck area, which is actually right across the street from fun spot USA Great food, great atmosphere music just a good time. And of course she got Disney World, Universal Studios and you know things like that. Also take the kids and have fun..

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Huge shout out to my brother Colby Boone, for just inspiring me and being a partner and helping put events together such as I will first winter wing shoot in North Carolina, which was a pheasant shoot it was a great success. I’d like to thank 247 Hunt and their crew for putting on the annual Dove Hunt down in Warner Robins, Georgia, and bringing people together for fellowship hunting. It’s something you really have to experience Nobody else doesn’t like them. Shout out to my wife, Christina Lucas for just holding it down When it comes to the kids and everything else at home when I’m on the road traveling for these events hunting across the country. Another person but he doesn’t have a huge social media presence, but he’s really close to me Is Dillon McDade he keeps me on my toes always ready to go out hunt fish whatever it is. He’s ready at the drop of Dime. Last but not least my son Kayden also keeping me on my toes keeping me inspired. He’s my number one fan as I am his and one deep outdoors wouldn’t be what it is without him. Hopefully, We can take this thing to new Heights in the future and when it’s time he can take it in, Make it bigger than what I ever imagined.
