Meet Keivon Hardy | Serial Entrepreneur

We had the good fortune of connecting with Keivon Hardy and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Keivon, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My thought process behind every business I’ve ever started was being the solution to a problem and how can I serve with the gifts God has given me. Also, asking myself how does this align with the life I want to live? I don’t believe in starting a business just to create another job for yourself that you may resent later on in life.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Posh Putters is a brand new golf social club headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina. Our mission is to build a community where black women can connect through the sport of golf. While we love the social aspect our main focus is learning the fundamental mechanics of the sport so that women feel more comfortable on the course. I’m proud of what I’m building and super excited to see the continued growth. Business-wise I got where I am today by failing upward, a lot of trial and error and just not being afraid of that failing and starting over if I needed to. Not being afraid to pivot. It hasn’t been easy but it also hasn’t been extremely difficult, I think doing the hard things first and not being afraid to ask for help, which is something that I have struggled with in the past have help make the journey easier. Some lessons that I’ve learned in my entrepreneurial journey that have stuck with me have been “done is better than perfect” “you don’t know what you don’t know and that’s ok” “success loves speed but not without strategy” “stay true to your vision”. I want the world to know that posh putters is here to stay!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?

Ooohh I’m a transplant so I have some places in mind but if I miss some great one charge it to my head not my heart. Places to see Id probably start uptown check out the Harvey B Gantt, Mint Museum, show them all the sports places (spectrum center, BOA stadium & NASCAR), we’d definitely check out NODA, Camp north end & South End, plus do some shopping in South Park, we might even spend a morning a crowders mountain. To eat: I love pizza so we’d probably go to bird pizzeria first, or Renaldos for the oxtail pizza and I’d give them options of Leah & Louise, Yunta, the crunkleton, Maria’s taco truck, 3rd & Fernwood, Bricktop’s and hopefully one of the food truck festivals are also going on so we could check that out.
For drinks/ hanging out we’d probably hit vinyl, dot dot dot, merchant and trade, Bar One uptown, eighty eights, Middle C, Runaway Clt, maybe hit a day party on Saturday or Sunday. Oh and we’re definitely going to one of the farmers markets.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to dedicate my shoutout to my angel baby, my son Karter. You hear a lot of parents say they’ll die for their child/ren but I choose to live for mine since he’s no longer with us. He only live for a short 28 days but he’s a constant reminder that life is short and while I still have the opportunity to I need to lie life to its fullest, do all the things I want to do plus the things I didn’t know I wanted to do and define what I want my legacy to look like.
